Have already tried with two different HDFC Platinum DC and received 0 cashback on tax payments. After that I checked T&C on HDFC netbanking portal and it was clearly written over there that the cashback is not applicable on Government payments.

In general they don’t give. But sometimes they run special offers and then they give.
