HDFC Smarbuy Pay with Payzapp query

If I buy Swiggy vouchers through HDFC smartbuy using pay with Payzapp option & use HDFC linked debit card for payment will I get 5% cashback or cashback is only valid for pay with payzapp using Payzapp wallet/card?

This is actually pointless, if one has hdfc debit card then one should directly use that on smartbuy—gyftr for 5% smartbuy cb. Using payzapp always creates issues for smartbuy cb & that’s why anyone having hdfc card(debit or credit) never use it for smartbuy.

When I try to buy Swiggy or any other vouchers except Amazon & Flipkart on smartbuy directly through Debit card transaction fails, smartbuy only allowed transaction through pay with payzapp option for Vouchers other than Amazon & Flipkart for me. I also asked HDFC customer care about this issue but they didn’t give me proper response that why transactions fails. So if you know whether 5% cashback valid on pay with payzapp using HDFC debit card then plz tell me.

It most likely means your hdfc card has been blocked for use on gyftr for misuse(multiple accs to bypass monthly gv buy limits etc) & in that case even if you use payzapp it will still most likely result in no cb because payzapp txns rarely give cb for smartbuy even under normal circumstances let alone complicated circumstances like this.

No I’m getting cashback for my transactions on smartbuy regularly & I only use smartbuy to buy vouchers mostly amazon, previous month I received Rs 1000 as debit card promotional cashback. It seems like my  debit card is blocked only for vouchers other than Amazon & Flipkart but its working on pay with payzapp option, so I want to know whether I’ll get cashback or not.

If that’s the case then issue will only be resolved by the backend technical team of hdfc/gyftr. I already told you about the very little success rate of ppl getting smartbuy cb for payzapp txns but you can try with a small amt of 500 & see if you get cb after 90 days & until then keep trying with hdfc customer care as this issue is technical in nature & will only be resolved by their backend IT team.

Ok thanks but terms and conditions on smartbuy really confusing me. This is what written there-

  • Offer Applicable on Pay with PayZapp option too. The offer as per the linked card used for completing the transaction would be applicable.
  • Only pay with PayZapp via PayZapp wallet will be eligible for the offer. Transactions done by entering 16 digits of PayZapp card followed by CVV will not be eligible for offer benefits on SmartBuy.

2nd statement that only pay with payzapp via Payzapp wallet will be eligible for offer is confusing me that should I use pay with payzapp via Debit card or pay with payzapp via payzapp wallet option. 

Also I talked to customer care twice & they are unable to solve my problem, they said card is not blocked & everything is ok from there side.

2nd statement basically means you must use your payzapp pin to login to the payment page where you will have the option to pay via payzapp wallet/any linked card & there select either payzapp wallet or a linked hdfc card(debit or credit). However doing this in past rarely gave ppl cb so ppl stopped using it & instead directly use their hdfc card on smartbuy. 

Customer care ppl won’t know about this, you will have to escalate the issue & somehow get connected to technical backend team.
