Hi guys,
I have Diners privilege LTF with 9L limit, today only I applied for dual card (Dcb) so now soon I will receive DCB with 5L limit and privilege will remain LTF with 4L limit.
after reading this devaluation and all, I think I should continue with privilege 9L limit and should ask HDFC not to proceed with my DCB request. If the points value is so less then I don’t think it’s a good option to take DCB first year free then end up paying 10k + 1800 gst from second year. Please share your honest opinion. Thank you
my honest opinion:
take the first year free. Then cancel it.. even with the devaluation, you can get 10% with DCB.
Always remember HDFC won’t be running these offers forever.. So most users paying for HDFC cards will anyways surrender, when the card is no longer worth it. Whatever saving you do interim is your profit.

Guys, I’d appreciate your suggestions in this regard. I have the offer to upgrade from Regalia First to Regalia (Paid, with no joining fees, no credit limit increase). I’m still in the middle of sorting out 700+ RP-related issue with them for transactions that took place in September. So, I’d take this as a chance to reconsider if I should go with the upgrade or not, given the upcoming changes for the Regalia card.Â
Should I upgrade to Regalia or let go of this offer and wait for the Millennia upgrade offer in the future?Â
I have been using Regalia First for the past 2 years and it’s not a LTF card although I didn’t pay any renewal fees.

This is too confusing. There are different claims and calculations by dimmers for the same card. And we are discussing multiple cards – DCB, Regalia, Millenia etc..Â

whatever i touch gets devalued. Franklin mutual fund, yes bank, ruchi soya, and now DCB. Every single time. Very strange.

Its 16.5% for flight and convenience fee is only 299 irrespective of passenger. Any other CC giving the same reward
Dont see any point in having any discount on flights. Credit cards will give the discount only on sites where convenience fees are charged. The better deal is to not get any such deal. Go with easemytrip. Always 0 hidden charge, 0 convenience fee.Â
If this info turns out to be true then LTF card holders can use other bank cards when the value of reward is more on them. For paid cards they have no choice but to close the card before the renewal time. Rs 11800 for DCB and Rs 14750 for Infinia is too costly with the reduced reward rates

I agree now flight offer on DCB is not attractive but still if someone is getting DCB LTF then he can utilize it in 3.3% reward point in offline category and getting Amazon voucher at 10% discount for utility bills etc. And no other Credit card except infinia is giving this much rewards at present.
Correct I also agree in case if it is LTF card… Otherwise better to close the card account
why dont u upgrade your diners privilege to infinia. With 9Lakh limit you are within criteria for upgrade.
shd one first upgrade to DCB LTF in alumni offer and then 1 year later upgrade to infinia ?

For Regalia, 1xRP = 0.93% if redeemed for vouchers; So now previously we used to get 5%CB for redirects like Amazon/Gyftr, but now with newer value it will be 5xRP which translates to 4.65%; Hence it’s a devaluation considering these categories; However if you take different category like Hotel (5% vs 10xRP) or Flipkart (1% vs 3xRP), then it’s an enhancement; but to be honest, most of us use smartbuy mainly for amazon and gytr only, hence it’s a bad news for most of us.

Considering a retail spend of 10k on amazon.
5% CB would result in 10k*0.05 = 500 INR statement credit
With the new reward structure, it would yield 10k*4*5/150 = 1333 RPs. 4 RPs for every 150, and 5x is the factor.
In case of regalia 0.2 is the factor for redeeming rewards to statement credit, so 1,333 gives 266INR if we go for statement credit.
