Which account is better is terms of service, offers and getting a credit card? Need to open an account urgently and can’t decide between the two.
Update: opened IDFC account, video kyc also done. So fast 🤩

They declined my preapproved card. Even after maintaining FD in 6 figures no card as of now. Still I would say customer service is better than HDFC. But HDFC CC and DC are better in terms of reward rates and offers

Are you in an unserviceable location?
I’m being offered IDFC classic credit card, should I take it?
Or put more money and wait for other cards??
Is the card worth it?

Where are you getting it from?
My friend was getting idfc millenia and his application was rejected in Last stage

I got sms with link, like this
“Presenting FIRST Classic Credit Card from IDFC FIRST Bank with never expiring 10X rewards on monthly spends above Rs. 20,000, 6X on online and 3X on offline. Avail today, free for life: https://idfcf...t/******”
Neversaynever wrote:If I have a bank account and live in unserviceable area and have a pre-approved offer will they reject it?
Yes they will reject it
Neversaynever wrote:Awesome bro, thanks, need not worry and break head about taking it or not
You can try asking your branch manager about the pre-approved offer , he can get you the card if he tries.
Neversaynever wrote:I didn’t approach any branch yet, kept it online, so that It will be closed automatically in a year.
Oh , btw you can get the classic card if you want. Not much difference between classic and select card.
PenguinSkipper wrote:Nope. I live at a location where IDFC has its branches since many years. Also my mom from the same branch and same address got the Select Card despite having no solid credit history. Never understood why it was declined for me.
Having a branch doesn’t mean it’s serviceable. Did you try asking your rm/bm why your application was rejected?

Yes, correct. My home branch is far away but they can process offline applications to their account holders even if your PIN is not serviceable(like me). Catch here is not all branches are allowed to source credit card customer. My RM told me to wait since the branch(tier 2 city) did not start sourcing cc customers yet. If I am correct, only branches in tier 1 cities and few tier 2 cities are allowed to source new customers.

Yeah

Kindly read again. I said my mom got the card who is also living in the same address. So the possibility of being unserviceable in the main city is out of the question. And yes RM only informed me about the offer and later when it was declined they said approval is done automatically by system and they can’t do anything. I reached out to customer care. They said they can’t disclose the reason. Afterwards, I moved my funds out so I don’t think I’ll get the card now based upon my banking relationship. Maybe in future I might get with salary slips but I’m in no hurry as for unlocking 10x points any way a transaction of 20k in a month is required and I’m Doing that using add on Card. Also there are hardly any offers anywhere except movie tickets so I can wait until they get better with online offers

Your mom having a card does in no way mean it’s a serviceable pincode. Anyways , if customer care denied to disclose the reason then they probably won’t give you the card.

Video kyc is enough

May I know the definition of an unserviceable pincode? I believe it’s a pincode for which they don’t provide their services to anyone residing in that pincode be it Ambani or Bezos.

You won’t get answers to anything with that attitude.

If you mom and u holding the account in same branch and you mom got the card but yours got rejected means then only way is to pressure the RM there. Otherwise no other option. Also keeping funds idle won’t help. Need to use the account actively not occassionally. If you mom isn’t using it actively but still got the card means then she is lucky. That’s all I know about IDFC in the last 6 months.

Chill bro. You’re replying as if I’ve been rude to you. I don’t mean disrespect to anyone and I don’t know why you got offended. I only shared my experience and you got triggered for no reason. I don’t know if you want me to write a formal request sugarcoated with greetings and apologies 😝. If you don’t want to share that’s completely okay 🙂. I’m anyway not looking to apply for the card right now

Yes she had been very very lucky. I got her an ICICI add on card and my credit card account started to reflect on her CIBIL which automatically improved her CIBIL. With that she got OneCard. OneCard got her IDFC Select card with a limit in 6 figures and with that she got Amazon Pay ICICI with no income proof and same limit as IDFC. I wish I had a luck like her.

You are still lucky when compared to me
I am in tier 3 city and not even SBI or HDFC consider my location as open market for sourcing. HDFC though did something and sent their executive to my location from his service location which is nearly 90 kms from my place. His one day spent on me only but still the application got rejected. Not one bank provides card here(except pre-approved) without good banking relationship. Now you are more lucky being in tier 1 city

My account more than an year old has been more active than hers with regular credit and debit transactions. RM has been good to me till now. Even got my chequebook request form picked up from home. They were looking for customer acquisition so gave good service. But for CC they said they can’t do anything. Now I’ve moved my funds since IDFC reduced the interests so I can’t put any pressure. My TRV is too low for that
