You seem to be a simple person (I mean people are aware that, at times, even BSNL offers free recharges for MNP customers and you paid Jio agent for it).
Even if you are not in the north-eastern states and/or Ladakh, Kashmir and the porting is within the same circle,
still it takes T+2 working days at-least.
Jio would already have sent you the SMS with the order number, timelines for porting.
If no regional public holidays, then it will get ported day after tomorrow.
But whether the recharge pack gets credited within 20 minutes of SIM registration depends on what the agent did (or failed to do).
If one wants to continue with the existing operator, if one wants to 'cancel' the port-out request then one gets about 24 hours from when the new operator asks the old operator for the NOC.
But for that too, one needs to manually send an SMS.
Also, even after porting to any operator, your outgoing SMS facility will be barred for 24 hours (from the time of the SIM registering on the new network) as per the rules in force (by TRAI).
Good if you have a secondary number or can borrow one.
Asking the scammer agent/stupid agent who took money from you for the FRC (first recharge coupon) would be tougher, hence canceling the portout request may not be feasible.

In Delhi BSNL doesn't work and no other company was offering something similar to that.
I paid jio agent as I knew I also had to do recharge for the sim later on but once it will activate it will be recharged from the very first moment.
Thanks for the guidance, have now borrowed a sim from family member for few days
