Help Needed... Got a drone from online and got a legal notice

My friend ordered a drone a year back online. He ordered from snapdeal the website.
Two days back he received a letter calling for hearing since drones are not legal in India.Even he received a call from them to pay 5000Rs Penalty.
Requesting Dimers to provide valuable suggestions to resolve this issue

here in Andhra and Telangana, many people use drones to cover marriage functions…..I dont think so they get licence to use them
They might have got some kind of permission or license to use it

My Friend paid the fine amount for the drone yesterday

Man this nation never stops to amuse me! Thank god I found this thread just browsing DD at random! Why the heck drones are illegal to start with? Why would we need a permit to fly drones? Doesn’t even make any sense!
