I m using same pureit model
It is good
Comes with external sediment filter, which i clean every 2-3 weeks
It asks to replace internal ro and other filters every yr costing around 3k, but haven’t done so in last 3 yrs as i get municipal water which doesnt need ro.

There was a review posted by someone on the pureit model that it stops working every 8 months and you need to reset it chip or something

Yes, not 8 months but 180 days
They want us to replace sediment filter every 180 days (comes 2 with kit) and ro filter once a yr. As i said i keep cleaning it so used each sed filter 1 yr each and then bought new from local market.
There is battery box inside which has small button, u just need to press and hold it 3-5sec once to reset clock count.

Before buying any water purifier, check your water supply’s current tds level, and then based on that go for the features.

Just a suggestion Make your own RO. It’s fun to make. Lots of you tube videos available. Yes, I have made one working from a year.

Maintenance costs outside free service contract or annual maintenance contract can be as high as the going market rates for the memberane plus the activated charcoal, candle/ pre-filter (if needed) PLUS similar labour charges from brand authorised technicians/ service center.

I would refrain from recommending between just those two models.
Both have plus and likely minuses and I might prefer one over the another

but I need to be clear on your own research process (if any) and whether you took any feed-backs from existing reliable users.
Speaking with friends, relatives or enquiring with others in your neighbourhood might be a good starting point.

AMCs outside the intially contracted free service, is ALWAYS a goid idea, even if no repair or part replacements are needed later on.
It is the peace of mind one gets, which offset the cost of the AMC.
Many service providers directly provide 24month or 36 month maintenance contracts too with limited (standard) liability just like the original service contracts at the time of the purchase of a new unit.

Even amongst such ‘service providers’ we usually stick with the brand approved company/office, rather than a solo person.
Although it is not guaranteed, usually a proper running business with an office and many staffers (including on-roll technicians) are more adept to attending to calls in a timebound manner.
Again, no guarantee but the existing service centers of the brand are more likely to be able to procure and supply brand approved or genuine spares.

Please help us too, but only if 3M type spares or parts were bought on-line.

Else provide direct market, off-line shop details.
Because purchasing key parts on-line is a risk, to say the least.

Accessories (clamps, wires, even servos, solenoid valves) for once I can think of buying on-line, as vusual inspection gives some idea of durability and quality.
But certainly not so in case of building the chasis, using the UV lamps, prefilter (candle) and the PCB, membrane itself.

So you made it within the past 18 months you say, right?

Mounted it on a wooden/ ply board or got any acrylic chasis or casing made to hold the components in a place?

Aside of the fact that using any equipment outside the manufacturer specified limits is not at all a good idea

Your statement alarmed me and set me wondering; that has your family been risking self, others by bot even replacing the chemically altered charcoal (activated carbon) which have a finite life,
nor replaced the osmosis membrane in all these months, DESPITE thousands of litres of water passing through it.
Even if consuming allegedly treated water, it obviously isn’t quite potable anyway.
Most OHT and pipelines in high rise building often are lax (to say the least), about how often are the tanks clean and how they are cleaned.
And if the municipal pipes are directly feeding into the kitchen, bathroom faucets, then too
how reliable are the (sometimes ages old) plumbing and pipes of the local municipal body?
Have often seen them running close to lines carrying sewage and both lines having faults, leakages or sabotage and contents, slurry from the waste disposal or storm drain pipes mixing with treated water lines meant for human consumption.

Check local brands as well
They usually work good and low on maintenance

Bhai TDS meter leke pehle quality measure and then go RO hunting.
If it’s bad, you’ll have to go for better purifier.
It’s a hit and trial type of thing.

Mere friend ka above 400 tds tha and most RO failed for him.
He settled with LG at last and is quite happy with it, it’s expensive but quite good.
Sasta maal sir-dard dega but that depend on how bad is the water.

People are saying 3k maintenance cost and ro stops working if you don’t do service or reset it by yourself

I have Kent and I suggest not to go for it due to the high maintenance. Bought it for 12k 6 years ago and would have spent more than that for its service/repair. Dont go for KENT.

according to WHO water having TDS below 300 does not require a RO and a normal purifier (UV,UF) is enough.
