My mother and I will be going to CMC Vellore in the month of July for medical treatment of my mother.(

There maybe many dimers who have experience of staying there for their or their loved one’s treatment.

Or are maybe from adjacent area.

Any suggestion/particular recommendation about  accommodation will be really helpful.

PS: Kitchen facility is not required, hotels a bit far from the cmc campus is preferred, can commute via auto. Looking for economic but clean stay.

And any recommendation for lite food near the place? (Restaurant suggestion?)

offline there are many available and that too cheaper , go and rent them directly .. all accommodations are nearby CMC campus only .. minor auto travel .

She has some gynaecologic issues. (Ovarian and uterian cyst)
She’s fine but to rule out any future complications going there.
🙏

Booked this via goibibo (as was getting at 800 per night ) for 3 nights.
AC Room. Sar Raj Residency
Planning to settle down a bit then will search in person for an economic yet clean accommodation.

The hotel is 2.5 kms away from cmc. (Which I actually prefer) and well connected.

Am i doing it right? Or you/anyone has some other take on this approach? I mean any suggestion?

If ur mom is ok with the distance . Then its ok. Rooms are available nearby from rs. 250 onwards . There is also a rule of paying minimum 5 day rent. And mostly i dnt think u will find a proper clean place nearby as mostly are filled up with different types of patient and u know how medical waste are there.
Also if u plaaning to visit cmc then keep atleast two weeks in hand. As they most of the time gives medical tests wich takes a week long.

Will probably look for offline economical options near the hotel I’m going to stay first.

First few days will be hectic that’s why I did not took chance of finding good option offline after reaching there.

I will probably stick to that location but with a more economic option as for 2 weeks stay shedding 16k is not ok as per my budget.

Yes, I’m concerned about that crowdy, medical waste an noisy and low quality environment near CMC that’s why opted for a slightly distant accommodation.

As per google maps the place is not too far from CMC (10 min auto ride,15/20 rs per person) but the place is less crowded with patients and have normal citylife. Also have good mess/hotels nearby whose food quality is better than the hotels which are near CMC.

After seeing hotels I can understand the target people for the hotel industry is Bengali(Indian) and Bangladeshis .

And I have this experience, if you want to have bengali foods outside west bengal you’ll have a very bad time with quality of the foods.

Local food options are far more economic and hygenic.(Like curd rice/idli or biriyani occassionaly from local hotels, which does not target any foreighn ethinicity)

I always try to avoid bengali hotel..bengali owner’s lodge blah blah while travelling but it’s sad to see other people fall for this trap.(Including my parents)

PS:I’m from west bengal.

Food isn’t such a problem in Vellore as it relies a lot on pan-India student crowd + patients. You get all sorts of food in all budgets.

Also, the place around CMC isn’t shabby as you expect it to be.

Yes for hygenic purpose living little far away is better option. Also if u are planning for a month stay u can get room at rent.

Not going at quality of bengali food and bengali hotel . Its all about choices.

Most people prefer lodges and as per there language because it makes easy to communicate  and also there u can find ur state people..
