Last time mere family wale weekends pr chale gye they, hotel to chhodo parking tk ke liye space nhi mila. Pura din car mai hi chakkar lga kr aa gye .
Jo room jisme just 2 month pehle main khud 4 bed ke sath ₹1000 mai raha to wo ₹4000 ka ho gya tha.
So plz prebook and also call the hotel to confirm the same.
Ramnagar jakar bus se Nainital chale jao, parking will be easier
OR
come to Ramnagar via train/bus, take a taxi from Ramnagar.
Overall, don't have your own driver & car while staying there. It's a mess.

So true Ncr people have messed up uttrakhand too much first rishikesh now rush is moving towards dehradun too. Even on weekdays it's tough to get rooms.

Ha vaise abhi off season chal rha h, to shayad saste me mil jae. Baki prebook kr lenge jisse baad me dikkat na ho

came back last weekend only. Had booked Kumaon Mandal Vigas Nigam Ltd. Hotels.
They're semi govt orgs and are best for the Sarovar View with reasonable rate. Just mind the steps you need to cover to reach the hotel room. Service was good and breakfast was super.
Rooms usually get sold out quickly so check if u can get rooms available.

Warna get ready to be one of those stuck on the road in traffic left with no option but to sit in the car until the road clears. Atleast with a driver, you can leave him there & go by foot.
Yes, if his trip involves staying and enjoying in Nainital only, then without a doubt taxi is best. Even the Nainital car parking gets choked sometimes, let alone most hotels not having any parking, and on/off mall road entries for cars.
But if his trip is gonna involve exploring other sites also, like Bhimtal, Naukuchiyatal, etc. Or the likes of Pangot valley. Or even the Kainchi Dham, Ranikhet etc. Then personal car will be better.
It all depends on what his planned trip includes.
