What is your preferred mode of payment?

Mine is UPI, NEFT, CREDIT CARD and Prepaid Wallet.

By Looking at the Volume UPI is no.1 and Cheque/DD is Last.

By Looking at the Amount NEFT is no.1 and Prepaid Wallets are Last in Position.

NEFT is first in volume because of Salaries and DBT to farmers/students uses that.

RBI gives cash circulation figures. That is a good measure.

They are mostly out of circulation. Possibly hoarded for "horse trading" purposes.

In a reply to a query in the Lok Sabha in Dec 22, , the Central Government said that no fresh Rs 2000 notes have been printed from 2018-19 onwards and the share of Rs 2000 denomination out of total Notes in Circulation (NIC) has dropped from 22.65% in 2020 to 13.8% by March 2022.
