How many CREDIT CARDS can be issued to a person without salary ?

Hi DD,

I am not earning, but I have monthly transaction of ₹12k-13k thru online shopping on Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio, flight & train etc. Max reaches to ₹20k.

Currently I am using sbi NetBanking and icici credit card got against FD.

Now my query is that:
1 – How many CC I can get ?
2- If I apply for 4 different CC like flipkart axis, IDFC CC, Amazon Pay CC, SBI simply click CC. Do I have to use all to remain active for whole year ?

3 – If I dont use  CC for few months, like zero transaction in IDFC, or SBI Cc for next 3 month, would there be any fine ? or any affect on CIBIL score ?

I use specific CC for offers only in online shopping.

Many banks have a condition that you have to use the card at least once every 3 months or they would charge annual fees (even if LTF).

1. as many as you want or can get, technically no limit.

2. You will not get flipkart axis cc(unless taken against FD) or amazonpay cc. IDFC cc you will only get if you are maintaining a good balance in their bank account & simplyclick(not against fd) depends on your luck but good chances if icici card has at least 40k limit & more than 6 months old. None of these cards currently have any condition to remain active for whole year.

3. No fine/charges/impact on cibil if you don’t use a credit card, HDFC recently introduced a new condition for their recently upgraded ltf credit cards that using at least once in 3 months is needed to keep the card ltf.

File an ITR this year & under exempt income show 2 lakh received from father(assuming your father file his itr properly).

There is no rule to limit the number of cards one may own. However there are a small number of cards that get closed or get converted to non-LTF if not used for a certain length of time. One example in my case was Citibank credit card, which they closed due to non usage for a year. Rest, you can keep cards unused as long as you want, it will have no effect on CIBIL, neither improve nor degrade.

I’ve few questions for you :-
1. If you are just a student why do you need a cc to meet your daily expense why not use your dc.
2. How come you are spending 20k per month on Az/FK?
Are you booking mobile phones for someone?
I don’t think you should need cc while studying (you already have 1 for all your needs)

PS – We in our time did not even knew anything about this. I only got my first cc when i started working though hushed

Go to MORE store or BigBazaar apply through SBI card agents sitting there, no need of job or income grinning etc they have solution for all these problems
Take any card they offer like Simply Save. Journey starts here and slowly build score, after an year apply for C2C, in fact u get calls for many cards automatic.
Be careful not to share any info like card details or OTP

Because you can rotate money with cc. It gives you financial power which you actually don’t have. For eg :If I have 1 lac credit limit and my expenses are 10k I can rotate money for next 9 months without any income. Problem starts when you no longer have credit limit. Yes some fall in debt trap due to this. But some are able to manage their short term crisis by this.

But why does OP needs to rotate his money when he’s not earning that’s was my question.

bro, can you tell about the process of C2C , is it different from regular – going to website/branch and apply fresh?

It means somebody(most likely from 3rd party agency) will call you saying you have a pre-approved card offer etc & all you need to do is give them your consent after which they will ask you about your existing card details like which bank, its limit & how old it is. If your card limit is 30k or higher then some agents will be able to offer you a credit card just based on your existing card details & statements(along with usual ID proofs). However if you got unlucky then your cibil score will take a hit & in worst case scenario your details etc might be compromised(happens to some here).

I think nowadays even success rate of such sbi agents sitting in malls/stores/petrol pumps is going down along with card limit as per some comments here. It seems that nowadays your best bet for such scenario(no job, no credit card) is a FD based card for a few months followed by OneCard.

With out salary and no income proof means i got amazon pay card.

Sbi home branch offered me pre-approved simply click or simply save or irctc credit card. Not Taking.

Idfc offered me millennia credit card. Not taking.

In This Case With Out Income Proof, means i have 3 but took only 1.

HDFC definitely has this in the terms and conditions. I had read some other banks’ too but don’t remember because I didn’t apply for them after reading that.

Ok but does that mean you don’t have money or from a well off family. SBI will offer you card if you keep lakhs in their savings acc or the branch manager you are from a rich family(your relatives having large amount bank balance in same/nearby branch). Same case with idfc card. ICICI amazonpay card many times depend on just luck/age of the applicant & just a guess but even the transaction/purchase history of the amazon account.

My assumption was based on a friend’s conversation with a sbi card agent who sits in a branch & said that nowadays sbi checking applicants more strictly & overall limit approved on card has gone down(so same person who could have got 40k limit earlier now getting 20k limit only). I guess it all depends on your luck to meet such an agent who will pull tricks to get your card approved. smile
