PS: 2 Year's ago they did the same thing..i have closed that account..but now they opened it again..

The whole system wants you to give aadhar, but you can get possibly everything without it, need to take a strong stance, if the store denies, ask the manager for his name and shoot a mail to nodal officer

Ideally you should also escalate your current case to rbi and airtel nodal, it's unethical to be opening bank accounts like that. I think their license got suspended earlier also for similar acts

Aadhar is not mandatory for sim. People now having habit of giving aadhar everywhere. I never used aadhar except linking with pan card. Sim, DL, passport, rc registration, vaccination, sbi bank account etc all done with voter ID only.

1) aadhar is not mandatory for obtaining SIMs. In many cases SIMs are obtained on kyc details of dead people / living people without their knowledge

2) Depends on multiple factors

3) Most people don't have any limits on their netbanking

that is why I never give my aadhaar to anyone. if somebody says that aadhaar is mandatory then that service is dead for me (be it sim card, broadband, dth or even bank re-kyc).

In remote rural areas there's no rule of law in India. Govt is not able to collect enough taxes to develop a strong law enforcement infrastructure in remote rural areas. police, courts, income tax raids exist only in urban areas and do not have enough resources to reach every part of the country.

Technically all online frauds can be tracked and reversed if bank account are opened based on genuine IDs, mobile sim cards are issued on genuine IDs. However it is not possible in remote areas to verify the authenticity of any document including aadhar, so anybody can have bank account or sim card based on fake documents.

If you are not well acquainted with online transactions and it's risk, better avoid it.

Fraudsters are using genuine aadhaar & ID proof of poor ppl who are more than happy to "rent" their genuine ID for a "small commission". Banks are also careless by relying only on "machines" instead of even attempting to develop a "new system" to counter this increasing rise in online frauds while spending crores on useless advertisements & credit card offers.

As adhar - pan linking is made mandatory now, is it worth fighting for not giving adhar? I mean may be yes to prevent aeps frauds etc. But to what extent, sooner or later scamsters will find a way to get adhar from pan as it'll be linked! & then misuse both!

I simply ask for any such circular where it clearly mentions that Aadhaar is Mandatory and only documents to be used.

Then they simply come up with non sense excuses and slowly start to agree to documents like Driving licence, Voter etc.

the sad part is these people dont even know how much imp./critical aadhaar is.

one jio guy said that we dont give sim card without aadhaar, technically its not possible.
I said : what about sim cards issued before aadhar.
jio guy : haaaann.. & after thinking for 2 minutes, jio came after aadhaar so not possible.
me : 🤦🏻‍♂️ (left the store).

Bro.. that's really sad to know!

Got the same response twice.. first while taking the sim.. second while reissuing. Had to ask him to show the app where it can't take other documents. Once he started showing, I could easily found out the "other documents" option and done with that easily.

Then he started blabbering, " lekin usmein abhi ho jata.. haatho haath ismein 3-4 din lag jayenge." I just said OKay and left. Got verified automatically within 24 hours and sim got activated after some hours.

The point is.. we give too much importance to such idiots who think themselves as another means of oppression to harass others, just because they can!? This is the era.. sadly!!

Yes bro, I agree.

But still it's better not to be giving aadhar to every company since it can be misused, we can atleast try to lower risk from our side.

I feel aadhar is the most riskiest ID card because it has the highest level of information amongst all. So only worth giving at ultimately important places.

Go to the store and tell them that you are going to file FIR against them for illegally opening Bank Acct without your consent.

There should be a System or Portal just like Aadhar for the Authentication History of PAN.

Where our PAN Card has been used?

In Aadhar,We Can Lock but in PAN its not Possible!
