How to book tatkal ticket

Today I checked the price but it was just the double of the actual tatkal price even almost 200rs extra..

That's the only option you have. Otherwise, you must have internet connection with good speed and your hands should work fast too.

Yes it will be higher...Some people will directly Try for PT at 10/11 itself..at that time prices will be lesser..

You can Download the IRCTC officially app. Save the passengers list and irctc wallet upload before open Tatkal slot booking. Make the payment under wallet option select IRCTC wallet upload up to 10k. booked confirmed ticket within a 1 minute.

I tried verified trick multiple times and successfully completed confirmed ticket booked.

If it is really urgent better book a flight, saves time

Or else go for a break journey like howrah to vijaywada in 1 train and Vijayawada to Chennai other train etc

1.download official app register , fill out payment option , wake up at 10 am and try for it 

2.plan journey (direct or connect )choose train/s a day before by having trial run

3. or book a flight

Can u show any ticket booked under10.00.30 or 11.00.30? Why dont you help op by booking under 30 seconds?

Who lazy? Who incapable? Maybe u. I was talking about railway servers which gets too busy at 11 am due to tickets booking throughout the country.

The suggestion which u have given in above comment (#waket up at 10 am) tells your whole truth. If u wake up at 10 am for ac booking then you may not be able to even login in 30 seconds due to havy traffic. Just check his route's rush, its too much. 

As per my experience  its next to impossible to book tatkal ticket in "howrah to chennai " route  on your very first attempt of your own. You have to try several days before you get one. @ heart_golu gave you very good suggestion. You can follow it.

My suggestion is if railway station is close to your house then please book tatkal ticket from counter the chance of getting tatkal ticket is higher than online booking.
