Call the HDFC fastag customer service. They will give you two options
1. Close the account completely and you will get the balance amount transferred to your account. but you cannot reapply for a fastag from HDFC again (that’s what the CC guy told me)
2. Close the fastag only and keep your wallet active along with the balance. In future you can re-apply for a new fastag
