How to extend amazon gift card validity

As per my knowlege, one year validity given on gift card but if you have not consumed that amount and you think it going to expire next month. Do ficticious purchase and cancelled it. When your gift card money refunded its validity get increase by one year.

Buy something of that amount and then cancel the product. You will get the Amazon balance again with new 1 year validity. Now end this tread.
