well i don’t agree with you… this may be possible only in big cities but when you travel to some hill stations or other cities, they will ask for too much price and you don’t have any idea about prices.. even if you negotiate you still paying more.. also it is too time consuming..

I had this same view, until one fine day.. me and my family had to keep hopping hills to get any proper room to stay.
Finally had to get into a 4* hotel without any discounts for that night.
Nopes never gonna follow your idea. As a bachelor going with friends this is ok.

Bachelors don’t sleep at night?

Not recommended at all. In 90% cases you will get looted.
@siddudeagarwal Bro, where are you travelling these days? Did you try hostels? I’ve stayed in 8-10 hostels so far in the past 6 months. Very budget-friendly, and a happening environment. Go with chains of hostels like gostops, lost, zostel only.

Actually we were getting rooms with just floors to sleep on. We searched high & low for 2 hours approx. If we were just few friends together.. Spending more time wouldn’t be an issue or even could make a bed and sleep on the floor. But it pains to see your aged parents getting tensed as well.
If its a season time, never go unbooked. Say for example right now most Hill stations will be booked. Even if possible get something at least for the first night.

Yes, I understand
In the 2000s (decade), you had services like Priceline (and another better one which I am not able to recollect now) to book hotel rooms for a very cheap price (almost 40-50% the usual price).. basically had a model like cars24 etc where customer/guest places a request for a room with price range and hotels would bid for the lowest they can offer.. and you get to pick what you want..
Hotels will fill up the rooms which otherwise would go waste, guests get a room for low price. Win win for both..
Don’t know why this online bid/reverse bid model never came to India.

didnt stay in hostels yet due to security reasons as one carries mobile or laptop
siddudeagarwal wrote:Bro, half of the Hostel crowd is workation/WFH wale. So everyone carries laptops there. Chains hostels are different than the normal hostel environment. You get a cupboard with a lock also. It’s pretty safe.
