Goodquestion

I have an old Samsung digital CTV (the ones with big back). I am thinking to putting it on my shop and run my shops ads on it on loop. Any idea how to do this?

You can play via your laptop or pc with the HDMI to RCA convertors like in link below price around ₹400(expecting your tv doesn’t have HDMI port)
https://www.amazon.in/NewMini-Scaler-1080P-Vide...
For a more Independent solution cost will rise which I think won’t be worth it.
Still you can go for streamers like these:

with inbuilt Usb and memory card slot you can play whatever you want price around ₹2000 but still above mentioned HDMI to RCA convertor will be required else you can look for one which already have RCA output.

Buy a local(chinese) DVD player which accepts USB. or some local(not necessarily Chinese) STB also accepts USB. Wire both via RCA connectors. Regarding looping, you need to explore the respective media player options if it allows.

Have you given a thought about the power bills you are going to incur doing that? Older cathode ray tube TVs consume a lot of Electricity.

That’s something I had not thought of. I assumed old ones will use less power so it ill be like adding one more tubelight

Ok here is what I have got from family
1) dell laptop external dvd rom that could be connected to the laptop via its fixed as and when needed. The port on this wire seems strange, it looks like usb at the lower portion but also has an upper portion which probably was for power but cant be sure. Don’t know how to connect this
2) 3-4 yr old airtel HD stb that has 2 usb slots at the back. Will try it out today
3) 7 yr old stb from some local operator. Don’t know what all it has, will get it tomorrow

So any suggestions will be helpful

On power, we decided we will use it only during high footfall hours.

So excited to make this one work, my first true jugaad innovation
