How to remove eye strains naturally ?

My screen time has been increased since last month.
I guess that’s the reason for eye strains like dry eyes and temporary headaches.
How you are dealing with such situations ? Any natural way to stop them ?

Apart from taking rest/
Use Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium 0.5% eye drops.
No side effects and it’s recommended for every person to use this who spends a lot of time in front of screens.

Add tears by cipla is a popular medicine of this composition. Easily available in all medical stores.

Based on what I can see from your profile
You had created zero threads from December last year until March 2nd week
3 threads in 15 days (March)
5 threads in 10 days (April)
There is a very drastic exponential hike in your usage pattern
The most probable cause for your eye strain is your urge to visit your so called threads every time someone posts a comment there (Unlike the random posts in other threads which we rarely visit back unless someone likes or quotes)
I haven’t checked the comments of your thread but may be you are getting yourself involved with every comment posted ?
So if you can reduce the intensity (+ the duration you stare at your phone continuously at any given point of time) somehow (apart from using the reading / eye-comfort mode on your phone) then I guess it will be very much beneficial to you (the best natural way)
Also It would be useful for u if you can evaluate phone screen time (per app) just to make sure that if there’s any othr rogue app doing the damage

Good observation, got same suggestions from doctor
Its difficult to reduce screen time (8-10 hrs)
Due to wfh, I am forced to work on computer.
I visit dd when I get free time in between.
I guess I should stop visiting dd for some days.
But people here post good information, so I get back.
Its lockdown & so many things are happening everyday.
So dont think its right time to disconnect smile

I faced the similar thing few time back.
Since lockdown I am using my phone all the time still having no issues.
→ you need to give rest to eyes every few minutes best is to go for 20-20-20 rule. Use digital screens for 20 minutes take a break and watch a distant object for 20-30 sec and then use screen again for 20 min and so on. Also take a atleast 20-30min break after few hours of usage.
→ Keep moisting your eyes use eye drops for that as suggested by dimers above.
→ Also increase the text size & display size if you do lot of reading it really helped me a lot it big texts doesn’t look much good but really helps.

The problem in your case is you have already hurt your eyes now so even taking above precautions won’t help much. I would suggest to limit your usage for few time so that your eyes can come back to normal state.

Any advice for eye floaters? The floaters in my eyes are increasing like on daily basis. In this rate i suspect they’ll completely take over my eyes till i go blind. I never wash my eyes with water, this is very bad right? There was a eye shaped plastic container type product in my house which my father used to fill up with rose water or whatever and place it on the eyes for few minutes, i can’t find that thing. Those things available or are they good for eyes?

Lower the display brightness esp. when using in the dark. Actually better not to use in the dark at all but even I can’t avoid it all the time. I do try to have a dim light source in the back besides switching to a dark theme. Warm colors can be more soothing in night time.
Android’s default Roboto font isn’t bad but a bolder font is better. I employ a custom deep black and really bold font system-wide. Also depending upon the OS and browser you should set the Font size a bit bigger.
Many web sites employ low-contrast fonts ex. Gray text on White background. Even XDA does this. For these web sites thanks to uBO I have disabled the download of Remote Fonts on a per-site basis. This can break certain site functionality though. https://cdn0.desidime.com/attachments/photos/614803/medium/Screenshot_20200429-133848.jpg?1588147922https://cdn0.desidime.com/attachments/photos/614804/medium/Screenshot_20200429-133824.jpg?1588147942

Okay..
Lots of good general advices.

1) May I know if you wear glasses or contacts for power. And last time you got your eyes checked ? Your eye power could have changed.

2) Do some eye exercises regularly.

3) Use larger fronts for reading lots of text.

4) if you have a polarized 👓 sunglasses try it with your monitor or display. If it doesn’t produce any rainbow effect you can USE it. It should significantly reduces many wavelengths of harmful light going in your eyes.

6) Keep medium-low level brightness on your pc/laptop.
7) Download “Flux software” in your pc/laptop.
8) Download “Twilight app” or “Blue light filter app” on your smartphone. Though I generally prefer inbuilt feature “Night shield” mode.
9) Use Cipla eye drops / Rohto cooling eye drops for eye refreshment. (Don’t overuse)
10) you can wear Anti-glare glasses as suggested by few dimers in this thread.

Follow thw 20-20-20 rule, it has been suggested by many opthalmologists
Basically, every 20 minutes spent using a screen, you should try to look away at something that is 20 feet away from you for a total of 20 seconds

Unless you have a tape measure you probably won’t be able to accurately measure 20 feet. Being exact isn’t the key. You should just try to focus on something far away from you. Consider looking out a window at an object that seems far away, like a tree or a building across the street. If you work in a small space, try walking outdoors or into a larger area where you can rest your eyes.

Reduce screen time.
Eat nutritious food especially that includes vitamin A and body will take care of itself.

The best natural way to Relax Eyes and Improve focus and Vision are –
Exercise A-

1) Goto your Terrace especially Morning before bright sunlight.
2) Now try to see as far as you can..
3) Try to focus on Tree or building or anything blurry or nort that clear from distance for 45 secs -1 min.
4) Now slowly shift your Focus to near things till you focus on thing which is 10 feet and then focus on your nose.
5) Now close you eyes for 30 secs.
5) Do step 3, 4 and 5 for 5-10 time

Excercise B-

Another form of eye exercise is the eye rolling exercise where you perform circular movements of the eyeball: rotate the eyeball clockwise 10 times, and then anti-clockwise 10 times. Repeat these sets of clockwise and anti-clockwise movements at least 10 times every day.

  • Also don’t use Smartphone, laptop ,TV in very low room light or dark environment.

Note- Don’t do Exercise A in bright sunlight .. Prefer time visible daylight before and during sunrise, after and during sunset.

YOU WONDER WHY THIS WILL WORK???

As we are using more and more screens which are close to our eyes and and our eyes are focused on fixed distant things for long time Especially coding or working on computer, Gaming or Binge on computer or mobiles etc. We are focusing our eyes to a fixed focus for long, in this case near objects.

In our eyes , the ciliary muscles are involved in changing the shape of the lens, which allows you to focus light on your retina to be able to see. When you look at distance objects, your lens becomes more stretched out and less convex. When you look at near objects, such as for reading, your lens becomes thicker and more convex. Without the ciliary muscles, all this would not be possible.

Problem is we are making our eyes worse by focusing on near objects and that to without flickering. And that leads to decrease in natural lubrication of eyes, that is dryness of eyes. Change focus every minute while doing work on computer or using smartphone. Try to flicker every 10- 15 secs. In beginning it will be tough to remember this to perform every 10-15 secs but with repetition ocer time…your mind will adapt and revert to basics of how body parts should function.

There is a simple 20 20 20 thumb rule to save your eyes and work with most of the people you can also try.
Every 20 minutes.
See at a distance of 20 feet.
For atleast 20 seconds.
Happy working.

Best solutions for dry eyes are :

1. cut a onion in half and hold it close to your eyes – clean and naturally wet eyes. This works.
2. wash eye with water and look at the ceiling fan / table fan for some time – the natural water / tear from eyes will come out. Make sure eyes are getting enough air flow and pressure.
3. Wash eyes with water. Take two eyes cubes and put them briefly over closed eyes for say 5 seconds and repeat this 10 seconds interval.
