It is the native hard reset method, which does not require the internet, but it does require physical access to the device.
Pressing the volume up and power button simultaneously, apparently leads to some internal menu options.
There is a reset option in there.
Method 2]
Visit the service centre.
Let the professionals do it.
Method 3]
If the device has internet access and if the device had a Samsung account logged in, then one can do a factory reset type data wipe, by logging on to the Samsung account from the computer and remote wiping the device.
Method 4]
Similar to what I typed in method three above, except if a google account was logged in.
Via the find my device menu options.. one can do things like making the device ring at full volume or factory reset (removes the password).
If physical access to the device is there, then maybe the underground scene would also have ways for some data recovery or hack.. prior to a reset.
