how to use citi rewards card-please help

u can use for cash rewards once u have 5k..1 reward = 35 paisa

now at least 10K points for redemption

Last evening I had redeemed 1k amazon voucher for 3.3k points and closed my 12 yr old LTF citi rewards card with over 8 lacs credit limit.

Reward rate is very low for non departmental spends. Can be used to get instant funds they generally have this loan on card offer running throughout the year unless we already have an existing loan on the card

Care to elaborate on why you closed it ? That too a 12 yeard old, LTF and having 8L CL !!!

I was not using that card from long time, it came bundled with my city salary account back then. And also I have a LTF citi Indian oil card for citi specific offers.

Did you redeem 3300 reward points for 1k amazon? What is the procedure?

We only get Rs0.25/rp for cash conversion.

I had called up citi phone banking for redemption. Don’t exactly remember if it’s 3.3k points or 3.7k for 1k amazon voucher. I had some 4k points in total in my card..redeemed this physical voucher and let go the remaining points..and closed the card immediately. We can see this voucher on citi rewards catalogue as well but due to covid crisis it was showing OOS for quite some time now

I recently(may be June2020) Redeemed my points for statement credit from Citi Bank App itself.. I got ₹3.5K for 10000 points.

And my question is how you people got this card as LTF?

Not spend based, both my rewards and Indian oil cards were LTF. I don’t remember using IOC card in last 2-3 yrs but not charged anything

If possible, can you explain how did you get these cards as LTF?
If they came with Salary account, is your company among top companies??
Coz, I had a word with their CC, and he said, they wont have any LTF cards from them, and when I said is it given with salary account? he said that must be different from company to company.
I took a card from them when I had salary account with them, but was not an LTF.
This info can help us and others as well..

I also got a card from CITI as LTF till I continue my Salary account.
If closed the salary account ,then it needs 35k spemd per year to waive off fees.

Thanks bro, I closed my salary account with them as I moved to different firm long back.
I never checked at that time whether this was LTF. And my employer was a small company.
This is the first year I had to check my usage with them, due to current situation.

Someone has informed citi rewards dont expire , however CITI Indian Oil points expire

Redemption value is better in IOC card. That’s the only reason I prefer holding IOC over Rewards.

I was holding both these cards simultaneously for 8-10 years. So yes Citi allows multiple cards. Even other banks do allow for eg I have 3 cards from Amex (2 CC + 1 Charge Card)

for citi rewards card,showing 1 rp=35 paisa.but when trying to buy amazon voucher it’s 15 paisa only
and for statement credit,10k points required
then i think it’s less benefit,not getting 2.8%.correct me,if i am wrong
