But GOI recently asked the production companies to increase production of it. Production had been reduced considerably till Feb, as cases were low

It should not be given early and it should not be given late. Only at the right time it should be given by a doctor.

Remdesivir had failed as a drug to treat Hep-C.
They repurposed it for Ebola but don’t know the efficacy.
Ultimately, they repurposed it for treating viruses and still the efficacy is not great.
Gilead just wanted to sell this drug as so much money was invested over the years.
