I had an amazing experience with IDFC Road Assistance program, putting it here so that more people can take benefit of this in case they are not aware.

https://www.idfcfirstbank.com/personal-banking/... (applicable for FIRST Private, FIRST Wealth and FIRST Select cardholders)

My car's battery was down and needed a jumpstart. I called their Road assistance number, the call connected immediately without any waiting or IVR. I was asked last 4 digits of my card number & mobile number and name for verification. Request was raised and I was given ETA of 45-60 mins. I got a call from them (CC) that a technician has been assigned and I should expect a call back soon. In 5 mins, I got a call from the technician and he reached in around 15 mins. Again got a call from CC to ensure that technician has coordinated with me. Technician came, fixed the issue. No paperwork or any more verification. Lastly, another call from CC in few mins to ensure my issue has been fixed and confirm the time at which technician reached my place. Overall, it took around 30-40 mins from calling the CC to my issue getting fixed.

Hope they continue to provide such good service.

PS: 4 complementary services per financial year. (as per cc).

Questions: does the car need to be registered in the name of the same person as the credit card?, or close family is ok?

good question. Though the TnCs mention that vehicle should be registered in card holder’s name but I was not asked for this. The car for which i availed this service is registered in a family member’s name.

Does anyone know any other mid-range credit cards which come with RSA benefits? Glad to see it’s included in IDFC cards which are LTF

Very nice! I applied for IDFC card but the verification software couldn’t match current face with the PAN since it is very old. Application rejected.

Yes, your friend’s car can be covered, but only if you have any of your govt ID proof. If you don’t have your own govt ID proof, in that case, you’ll have to show RC copy or some other car ID which will not have your name on it. I don’t think there is any explicit meaning or definition of “covered vehicle” as such because there is nothing related to it they’ve mentioned in t&c document.

Here’s an excerpt from RSA T&C:

IDFC FIRST Bank card holder will show any own Govt ID proof / Car ID (RC Copy, PUC Certificate, Insurance Copy) to the fleet vehicle agent. RSA Service will be provided post validation and name match on Govt ID/Car ID with the name on the IDFC FIRST Bank credit card.

I was not asked for any proof and my car is also not in my name.

Then maybe its upto the RSA or fleet vehicle agent. If that person checks, then need to provide. But chances of him asking you are anyway low as that fleet person might already have your details like car no etc.
