">I Proved that iPhones are not SAFE Anymore with @ mrtechpedia - YouTube

I see tech videos like this grossly misinforming you creating a sense that every company is stealing your data. I have three short comments:

1 You have written off your privacy to the tech giants while accepting "Terms and Conditions" for their services. These are large firms based in the US which is one of the most litigious countries. There is very little chance they would act as bad actors since Facebook got butchered for it (see how bad the situation is in Facebook, even financially, look at the stock price). You can keep faith in EU and US laws for your safety as far as the tech giants are concerned.

2 You install most adwares, ransomwares, trojanwares yourself when you install modded apps from some weird websites and Telegrams because they offer premium features without a fee. iPhones were free of this until now. But EU has forced Apple's hand to allow third party app stores from 2024, so it is going to happen in iPhones soon (it is in the news today itself)

3 China has an unwritten but well-known policy of collecting data from all countries which they want to keep handy so that they can manipulate the foreign governments as and when they wish. All phones brands, all of them, has manufacturing plants in China for at least some of the parts in their hardware and it is most likely that the entire device got manufactured in that country, may be assembled in another country (for tax and import duties) savings. So every single time you open an App on your Xiaomi or BBK electronics phone, they immediately save what you are doing. Every photo saved in their app galleries are getting transmitted to China. If you think how could they do it as you have 1.5GB/day data plan and you'd get to know from data usage. Using FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation), you can compress image to 0.2% and retain extremely good quality. So your 1GB of photos and videos need 2MB to transmit to China. And if you drop some frames in videos, data requirement for videos will be even lower.

TLDR: You have written off your privacy by (a) accepting "Terms and Conditions", (b) installing modded APKS, (c) buying phones manufactured in China which has an unwritten but well-known policy for data collection.

For an average user privacy hardly exists on internet it is the security which should be focused on.

Absolutely. Just be a responsible user and beware of scammers. What other option does anyone have?

Your 2nd & 3rd points are correct and those privacy issues are user-dependent. If someone wants free something and willing to give up their data and privacy for that free product/service it is a fair trade, sure it's naive but fair nonetheless.

However, your 1st point that big techs are following all laws and maintaining user's privacy is false. If terms and conditions which are accepted are one-sided and are mandatory to accept to use the service then that cannot be said to be fair. Just because a company is not violating any present-day laws doesn't means whatever they are doing is correct. Only when people raise their voices against such practice then only we can expect the government to frame new laws respecting the expectations and requirement of present-time. For companies like Meta(facebook), Alphabet(Google), etc. paying fines of few millions/billions are just cost of doing business, where they make a lot more money by breaching few norms and paying the fines then by respecting user's privacy or laws.

Every product/service has a cost and if user wants to get it for free then they have to sacrifice with their data or privacy and if users have respect for their privacy then they will pay for the development and support of such services/products.

Agreed. All I wanted is to remind everyone is that most of all frauds happen because you have actively given permission and approval when asked for, just like one gives OTP to a scammer or click on a fraudulent link and fill details assuming it is a legit website. Ethical concerns aside, it is you who have given a go ahead. That is how life is. Think of how politicians or IAS officers or people in power embezzle funds. It is always that way.
