Which credit card provides highest value back in terms of Rupee value?

There is a need to spend large sum for this year and coming year for higher education. There are many cards that provide rewards. But Rupee value of the reward points vary depending on the provider.

I am initiating this thread to search for the best value back card and not best rewards or best cashback cards.

(Pls refer the deal wiki section for more details.)

Can you plz suggest more cards with better value back?

@MJ911, I forgot to ask you to add the following information on the main post. Can you plz add ?

Standard Chartered Ultimate : Flat 3.3% cashback. No limit, no categories, no exclusions. ₹5000 joining fee, ₹6000 cashback. ₹5000 renewal fee, ₹5000 cashback. Redemption only at SC’s rewards360 website.

There is a mistake in the main post.

The Standard Chartered Platinum is actually Standard Chartered Super Value Titanium card.

I will ask @MJ911 to update it with the latest info.

Standard Chartered Super Value Titanium : 4% cashback on fuel (5% Cashback – 1% Surcharge), Max ₹2000/transaction. Max. cb ₹200/month. 5% cashback on telecom and utility – postpaid mobile, landline, electricity, DTH, water and piped gas. Min Rs.₹750/transaction, Max cb ₹200/month for telecom, ₹100/month for utility. Telecom and utility must be paid through SC’s billpay section of the website.

With so many conditions, ifs and buts the card has lost its appeal.

This 5% we can easily get on payzapp.
No use of this card with so many conditions

Deal Cadet Deal Cadet
Link Copied

True. However payzapp has limited transactions. Axis Ace also give 5% on GooglePay.

The only advantage of this card is to get 4% cashback on fuel. As per my understanding it is the only card that gives net 4% cashback.

But that too is capped at ₹200/month. That means at the max you can fill up for ₹5000 of petrol/diesel to make use of it. And in one go you cannot fill up for more than ₹2000 pensive

This card is losing its charm. As mentioned its not very appealing.

Yes, previously it was a very good card with 5% on all transactions.
Now it useless

@MJ911 , Thank for adding the Standard Chartered Super Value Titanium. But Standard Chartered Platinum had to be replaced with it. Now, please delete the line of Standard Chartered Platinum.

Hi @MJ911 ,

Please remove the below line from the main post -
“Standard Chartered Platinum : 2.5% cb on fuel (5% cb – 2.5% surcharge). 1pt/₹150 spent. ₹0.26/point. Max ₹500 cb/month”

Yesterday, I also learned (the hard way) that IndusInd bank Platinum card does not give 1.27% flat cash back. It gives 0.68% cashback for -
Utility Bill Payments
Insurance Premium Payments
Government Services/Charges/Payments
Education Institute Fees

For all other categories it will be 1.27% though.

I found a new card – BoB Select.

All the reward related information is not available on its website – https://www.bobfinancial.com/select-ca...sp but from the net it seems that a reward point is valued at ₹0.25. With that the reward is ₹1.25/₹100 spent on Dining, Utility bills, Online. Capped at ₹250/month.
₹0.25/₹100 spent on everything else.

An interesting feature is 1000 rewards points / ₹5000 spent every month ! (₹1000x5) This means ₹250 cashback every month !
This is just inspired by Amex smile

And if you spend ₹6000/month or ₹72000/year you get annual fee waiver.

Anyone hold this card ? Can anyone verify this information ?

you have done all the homework why are you asking others 😂

Deal Cadet Deal Cadet

That is because I dont have the card. Card holders can can always enrich the information. In fact there was a mistake and a new information on the total cap on bill, utilities were pointed out by a member.

Discussion generally helps.

Thanks for recognizing the homework though smile

No. It is not. As I mentioned in the thread, a few posts ago, Indus Platinum doesn’t give 1.27% for utility. Plz check that post again. That is an update to the the main post.

I will ask the admin to update the main post with that information. I am sorry, I cannot update it myself as I am low on Karma.

@MJ911

Can you plz remove the below line from the main post -
“IndusInd Bank platinum card gives flat 85ps/reward point. Every ₹100 spend gives 1.5 points. That is ₹1.27/₹100 spent.”

And replace it with -
IndusInd Bank platinum : ₹0.85/reward point. Every ₹100 spend gives 1.5 points. That is ₹1.27/₹100 spent. On utility, insurance premiums, payments to Govts and education fees, the cashback is ₹0.68/₹100 spent.”

Standard Chartered also has very poor customer support in case of fraud transactions, even axis/public sector banks may prove better in this regard & that’s saying something.

Time to add a new card to this wiki.

HDFC Millenia : 5% Cashback on Amazon, Flipkart, Tata CLiQ, Myntra, Swiggy, Zomato, BookMyShow, Cult.fit, Sony LIV and Uber, 1% on everything else except Fuel. Rs.500 must be accumulated as cashback before it gets credited to statement balance on request. Unutilized cashback lapses after 2 years.

@MJ911, can you plz insert the above line between Flikart Axis and HSBC Visa Platinum cards in the wiki ?

One more card worth this wiki -

SBI BPCL : 3.25% cashback (Fuel Surcharge is waived in all credit cards so not adding that 1% to 3.25% as advertised). 13 points/₹100 spent. 1 point = ₹0.25. Surcharge waiver applicable only on transaction less than ₹4000. 1% Surcharge is applicable if card is used for ₹10000+ per statement cycle.

@MJ911, can you plz insert this between Standard Chartered Super Value Titanium and Standard Chartered Ultimate cards in the wiki ?
