Which credit card provides highest value back in terms of Rupee value?

There is a need to spend large sum for this year and coming year for higher education. There are many cards that provide rewards. But Rupee value of the reward points vary depending on the provider.

I am initiating this thread to search for the best value back card and not best rewards or best cashback cards.

(Pls refer the deal wiki section for more details.)

Can you plz suggest more cards with better value back?

Their is no one size fit all solution here. credit card usage and rewards are dependent upon your spend profile and preferences. for eg – if you a frequent flier, you might use a card that has good reward rate on air miles conversion, like Infinia or sbi air India etc.

I prefer to use cards based on their reward milestones and category. for eg –
1. BOB Eterna – monthly usage of ~42k on rental payments (reward rate of ~3.75%)
2. HDFC Diner – monthly usage of 80k on rental/others (reward rate of 3.3% + INR 1000 vouchers)
3. HDFC Infinia – regular household expenses (reward rate of 3.3%)
4. SBI Ola – monthly usage of ~7200 to convert to amazon vouchers (reward rate of 15%) – not using since last month because of ola postpaid issues
5. Amex MRCC+Gold charge – 12k monthly on paytm load (reward rate of 6.8% when redeemed for 24k collection)
6. Axis Ace – for bill payments (reward rate of 5%)
7. SBI Elite – Movie tickets & Groceries (2 tickets free per month, 5x on groceries)
8. SBI Air India/Infinia/Amex Plat Travel – all big purchases

I heard that there is a card in HDFC that gives better value than every other card. Unable to find it. Plz contribute if you can get the info.

Bury that thought. There is no other “better” HDFC card than Infinia till the time you are referring to Diners Club Black, which is a matter of preference.

Your main post has lots of error and misinformation or even already outdated information. To begin with, what is the source of Indus platinum point value (wrong), or even MRCC 1k/4 times a month (outdated), regalia (error)?

All cards are not the same. All of this start from the basic question – what is your requirement// where would you spend using the card & where would you redeem your points?

There are Airline cards that you missed, car rental cards, site-specific cards. Few cards are known to give you 7.5% – 10% or even 15% worth in terms of value though they wont’s suit all.

Plz. point me to the exact error and I will try to resolve it provided you give any authentic info.

Indus Platina, the information is correct. I verified it before putting on the main thread.
Amex – I personally own MRCC and it is the information that is from my own statement.
Regalia – I recently cancelled, some 3 months ago. If things have changed please let me know.

This thread is not only for my personal gain. This is here to help all the dimers. Let people find a card for their requirement. Of course, I am not listing cards for value in terms of free lounge access, free golf sessions, free movie tickets etc. (though I have those cards). Here we are discussing only about the reward points or cashback in terms for hard Rupee value.

Request you to please continue to suggest what you feel the best.

Indus Platina, the information is correct. I verified it before putting on the main thread. – There is no Indusind credit card by the name Platina……..

Amex – I personally own MRCC and it is the information that is from my own statement. – you need to really update yourself bruh. MRCC changed tnc starting April 1

Regalia – I recently (3 months ain’t recent) cancelled, some 3 months ago. If things have changed please let me know. – The points got devalued in 2019/20. That’s why i am saying, update yourself before posting!

Here we are discussing only about the reward points or cashback in terms for hard Rupee value. – Yeap.. Three SBI cards give you 7.5% back in terms of rupee value.

Read my last post again – there is no single card to suit all.

Thank you @Ramta_Jogi for taking active interest in correcting the information.

However, there is some misunderstanding. I mentioned about Indus Pinnacle and not platina. The information in the main post is for pinnacle only and very much correct. Somehow you read platina and I also replied to you on platina considering you were referring to the right card.

I checked and Amex did change its benefit condition from 1-Apr. You are right on that count. However, they changed the terms only starting current month. Maybe not getting updated on every card’s terms for about 25 days is a crime on DD. Please continue to pull me for that.

I will still wait for the new statement to generate before updating the main thread.

I agree, one size doesn’t fit all. That is the reason we are listing cards with their value back in one line so that it becomes easy for the diners to choose their size and flavor of the card.

Plz provide the info on the 3 SBI cards that you were mentioning in your last post. Also let us know about Regalia’s new point value.

Thank you once again.

Whatever may be the case, the information in the main post about Indus Pinnacle was correct and it is still correct.

Waiting for the SBI Card information that you will provide.

The redemption options are pretty bad… No cash, no Amazon/Flipkart voucher; the only vouchers available are those brands that you can get at 10-20% off itself in other sites.
This is why even though SC Ultimate sounds one of the best CCs on paper (it even gives 3.3% on wallet loads !!!), and is actually LTF is a way that the annual charges you pay, you get back same amount back in points on payment of annual fees; yet the redemption options make it a complete trash card.

Well… Its not as bad as mentioned. It doesnt give statement credit or amazon voucher but still it provides some meaningful vouchers. And they are still better than HDFC’s 3.33% cashback which can be redeemed only against flight/hotels.

There is no minimum amount for redemption but at least you should have points to redeem for the available options on rewards catalog.

It takes 60 days to credit points.

Redemption options are available here -
https://retail.sc.com/in/rewards360/rewards_h...in

The most sensible ones are Croma, Bigbazaar and Max vouchers.

Redemption charges : There are two conflicting information. At one place (https://av.sc.com/in/content/docs/in-common-stm...) it says there is a charge of Rs. 99 that covers the courier charges. But then there are e-vouchers available for redemption. Earlier, I redeemed points of Super Value Titanium card for Fastrack voucher and I didn’t incur any redemption charges.

There is no TNC that indicate otherwise.
