Hello Folks,

I recently received the below email from Jio.

Subject : Number retention charges for Jio Number : Do you want my no ?:P

Dear Customer,

Number retention charges of Rs. 14.63 has been deducted from Top-up balance on Jio Number (lol i can’t share my no publicly) as there was no usage observed for last 90 days.

Kindly recharge your Jio Number with a valid plan to avoid these charges in future.

I haven’t being using this sim from the past 1.5 years if i am not wrong but when i turned on my Jio sim i was able to receive incoming calls on my Jio no.

I can’t even check my remaining balance in my Jio app too now. Do you guys know how to do that in the updated app version?

What shall i do now? I hope they do not discontinue my sim hushed

Awaiting your valuable suggestions.

Tagging my folks here. I am sorry if anyone of you guys find this post irrelevant to you.

If they keep deducting 20rs after every 15 days then what’s the use?
This is the first time Jio has deducted something from my main balance.
Anyways, thank you Devarakonda wink

Vu+. I also received the email. But amount wasnot mentioned in my case. Just “Number retention charges of Rs. has been deducted”. Probably due to low main balance.

And I think you can check main balance in the 2nd tab in MyJio App. Next to the home tab. Not sure what exactly it is titled.

I was able to view my current plan expiry, data left and the main balance on the home screen itself and now the balance tab has just vanished pensive

On how to check the balance in app
Open Jio app → Click on plan shown below the mobile number → It will open My plans → Go back once → Scroll to the left on the data balance. You can see the talktime
Alternatively you can login on the website and check there.

Found this on jio website:

Information related to deactivation due to non usage:

Prepaid:
In case of non-usage (no voice/video calls, outgoing SMS, data usage or usage of Value Added Services) for a continuous period of 90 days or more, the mobile number will be deactivated at the discretion of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, subjected to following;

In case the available balance in your main account is more than Rs. 20 at the expiry of 90 days of non-usage period, Automatic Number Retention Scheme will be put into effect – Rs. 20 will be deducted from your account and the non-usage period will be extended by 30 days. This process will continue till the balance in your account is less than Rs. 20, post which your number will be deactivated.
The Jio mobile number can be reactivated by making payment of Rs. 20 within 15 days of deactivation due to non-usage. Number will be disconnected on non-payment of said fee within this period.

But my sim is still working. They themselves are contradicting their statement now.
I guess i don’t have any balance on my sim but if i recharge it 20rs will they again deduct 20rs after 15days? If yes, then i will have to try something else.

Isn’t it better to get Rs. 20 deducted from main balance instead of recharging it? The purpose is to keep the number active.

rs.10 recharge will count in 90 days in jio,airtel & vi ?

Benevolent Benevolent
Link Copied

Recharge doesn’t matter unless it also gives service validity like the Rs 100 topup in case of Airtel and Vi. You need to make at least one OG call/SMS every 90 days. Vi closed the connection of one dimer who only used data although that should also count. Vi had a Rs 19 pack which gave SV for a few days. Also Rs 29/39 pack – 14 days SV. Otherwise Rs 45 is the lowest in case of Airtel and Vi and Rs 129 in case of Jio.

Accha someone tell me this → I have a Jio sim which I havent used for 10-11 months. But whenever I put in slot, Jio used to send alert to another Jio users who tried that number that this number is available to take calls. Is there any method by which I can disable that alert?
