But my sim is still working. They themselves are contradicting their statement now.
I guess i don’t have any balance on my sim but if i recharge it 20rs will they again deduct 20rs after 15days? If yes, then i will have to try something else.

This is their t&c, maybe they are starting to implement it now.

For the safe side leave some 20-30 main balance in jio, if they deduct again next month, let it be. Better than loosing the no.

Because of the 16 votes received in this thread only 2 have received this message from Jio. That’s strange. I still have people who haven’t recharged their sim cards for years altogether

Not recharged for 8 months. I haven’t got this email yet.
I have around 100 ₹ in balance. Planning to add 50 more with some offer.. get a voucher and transfer it to some other used jio number and just forget this particular Jio no.

Isn’t it better to get Rs. 20 deducted from main balance instead of recharging it? The purpose is to keep the number active.

what is cheapest plan to get talktime?? 240 rs.per year for incoming call is good v.good deal

Unfortunately the operator at its discretion can close the no. anytime. Vi is the worst offender in this. regard. For now Jio is far better but still unwise to take any chance unless it’s a throwaway no.

Recharge doesn’t matter unless it also gives service validity like the Rs 100 topup in case of Airtel and Vi. You need to make at least one OG call/SMS every 90 days. Vi closed the connection of one dimer who only used data although that should also count. Vi had a Rs 19 pack which gave SV for a few days. Also Rs 29/39 pack – 14 days SV. Otherwise Rs 45 is the lowest in case of Airtel and Vi and Rs 129 in case of Jio.
