Inactive Jio users - Beware.

Hello Folks,

I recently received the below email from Jio.

Subject : Number retention charges for Jio Number : Do you want my no ?:P

Dear Customer,

Number retention charges of Rs. 14.63 has been deducted from Top-up balance on Jio Number (lol i can’t share my no publicly) as there was no usage observed for last 90 days.

Kindly recharge your Jio Number with a valid plan to avoid these charges in future.

I haven’t being using this sim from the past 1.5 years if i am not wrong but when i turned on my Jio sim i was able to receive incoming calls on my Jio no.

I can’t even check my remaining balance in my Jio app too now. Do you guys know how to do that in the updated app version?

What shall i do now? I hope they do not discontinue my sim hushed

Awaiting your valuable suggestions.

Tagging my folks here. I am sorry if anyone of you guys find this post irrelevant to you.

Unfortunately the operator at its discretion can close the no. anytime. Vi is the worst offender in this. regard. For now Jio is far better but still unwise to take any chance unless it’s a throwaway no.

then which plan is better in jio sir for incoming calls only?

Accha someone tell me this → I have a Jio sim which I havent used for 10-11 months. But whenever I put in slot, Jio used to send alert to another Jio users who tried that number that this number is available to take calls. Is there any method by which I can disable that alert?

45. 49 gives 38TT which expires at the end of 28 days. 48 gives 3GB data but there’s restrictions on calling to certain nos I think. For instance I couldn’t call Railway Enquiry. But worked from a Vi no. also on 48 pack.

Yes, you do need to activate any of their monthly packs to gain access to outgoing calls and messages.

sirji isi liye thot of porting to airtel because as sir mentions above 49 plan per month is cheap than 149 of jio. after both these plans 90 days is grace period before they disable number? in 90 days period is incoming message/call allowed?

In case of airtel you get 7 days grace period for receiving calls & sms after plan expiry, after 90 days number is disabled permanently. Vi is also supposed to follow the same but in my case I have found out that since last 2-3 months my number becomes unreachable just after 49 plan expiry & won’t start receiving calls until I recharge with 48/49 plan.

Bhai jio kaa experience sabka alag alag hai, in this thread itself some ppl say they get notice of recharge/deduction after 90 days while some have incoming call/sms active despite doing no recharge for years. 49 is the cheapest plan for airtel, do 49 recharge every 28+7 days.
