Even though it's jubilant atmosphere but it's not possible to be in top 10, without certain sports which we don't even participate in.
If work is started today then probably we can be in top 10 in 15-20 years.

Misguided would be better word
nothing significant has been done in 70 years(you know it), now it has been 10 years and fruits may take some time to come sooner or later
Our GDP was one of the lowest in 1947 with virtually zero infrastructure and catastrophic crop conditions and a population divided after war and partition. To take it forward without any military coups or civil war was indeed an achievement despite 3 wars and 2 constantly pesky neighbors. The dams, factories, irrigation projects, green and white revolutions, educational institutions, infra projects etc have to be highlighted. It takes time to build a nation with such a vast population. Do I think more could have been done? Of course.
