Install custom rom on Jio Setup Box

the new modded ROM we have created for the Jio STB.

Features-

1. All Google apps including Play Store added and working.

2. Android TV Home also added and working.

3. All Jio Apps working fine.

4. Netflix ESN also working.

5. Cast features in some apps working. Not working in some apps like Prime Video.

6. Google Assistant also working.

Notes-

1. Full fledged chromecast using Google Home app isn't working.

2. Please don't update Google app otherwise Assistant will not work.

3. Android TV remote service is also buggy and doesn't work.

Mostly all bugs are related to minor Google features and this ROM is extremely smooth and stable.

P.S. The developer of this ROM is extremely busy so please don't DM the developer spamming about bugs. TV is release is final for a couple of months before next upgrade.

Prerequisites-

1. JioSTB(Ofcourse)

2. A Windows PC

3. USB A Male to Male cable/ USB C to A cable if your laptop or PC has USB C port.

Instructions-

1. Download the system image zip according to the model number of your box and extract it.

2. Download amlogic tools 5.5.0 and put it directly in local disk C. Install worldcup driver also using AMLogic driver installer.exe.

3. Put the system.img extracted before in the amlogic tools/bin folder.

4. Now disconnect the power plug of the box, and connect usb male to male cable from the box to the PC.

5. Open AMLBootloaderConsole.exe you will see a screen waiting for device.

6. Press and hold the reset button of the box using a pin and simultaneously insert the power plug.

7. You should release the pin after connection is established(Windows will make a sound and you will also see a screen [email protected] in bootloader console).

8. Open a cmd in the bin folder of amlogic tools.

9. Run the commands separately,

update bulkcmd "amlmmc erase system"

update bulkcmd "amlmmc erase data"

update partition system system.img

10. After it is success run,

update bulkcmd "setenv -f EnableSelinux permissive"

and next

update bulkcmd "saveenv"

these commands are for safe side.

11. Finally unplug your STB and replug.

Is it worth buying JIO STB for 1000. Someone is selling new for 1000 on olx.  Also,  does it work with normal dish connection like tata sky, disktv by cable?

yes, it's a 4k box with android 9

What is the benefit of installing this custom rom on this STB? 

Do we get to save any money to watch content (for free)?

Lab me experiment karke results n procedure kaa jo chitran kiye hain wo sirdard kaa Karan ban gaya hai ji.

JIO stb is locked and you cant install anything except what JIO provides. 

With MI firmware,  you can use it like normal Android Set top box with Play store and all apps.

Flasher's tip: If your STB is not detected during flash, you will need to downgrade your stb by copying old firmware in Pendrive and follow downgrading Instructions.

I wasted 3-4 hours trying different drivers and cables and OS's,  Laptop, PC. 

Could you please guide how to install this on new Jio STB ; coz it is not detecting

What about Airtel xstream box ?

Is this not working anymore? Cuz the video seems to be removed.
I use a jio set top box, mostly for live tv (using jiotv+ app), Hotstar, sony liv, and zee5 (all via jio tv+ for live tv channels). If I install this 'custom rom' will I be able to watch Live TV using jiotv+ the same way I am doing now?
