Introducing New Forum Design for All Users

Hey guys,
We are completely re-vamping the Forum design on Desktop and M-site after around 5 to 6 years… Its one of the major change which will get rolled out to you in next couple of hours…
Why such a big change suddenly?
To be very frank, its not a sudden change and we have ourselves used the new layout/design for past 1.5 months before rolling out to all… And yes we have been contemplating such a change from a long time…
The forum page in its current form was very unhelpful for New Dimers or new visitors to the website… With around 8-9 sticky, the sub-forums etc.. all the real deals were very much down and was lot of inconvenience for New Dimers to figure out the deals.
Also many never figured out how to see Latest deals in forums etc.. So we are hoping the new design will solve some of the pressing UX problems.
Why no votes? Why only hotness?
Over the last one year, we have worked a lot on Hotness algorithm and we will continue to evolve it to push better and better deals up the chain irrespective of simply “votes”
In current Forum page, 5 green smileys would show up even for deal having 40 votes vs one having 6 votes… It was never intuitive enough to understand the hotness of the deal..
With hotness, we are trying our best to automatically show the best deals on very top and Hotness currently is not depndent on what your “best friend” in the community thinks.. it considers clicks, views and much more…
While moving away from smileys may feel a bit odd, you will strongly feel the difference after few days or a week.

Easier switching of Forums
We understand many users would like to switch between forums and we have tried it to make it as much easier as we can.
Improved Search
If you are searching for deals, you wont find discussion clutter when looking for deals.
Choose your layout and it applies site-wide
If you prefer to see deals in a Grid format, simply select that layout and same layout will apply in Home page, Forum page, Search page etc..
If you prefer a less image heavy Text layout, We have got you covered too.
Hope you guys enjoy the change… While it may become slightly difficult initially (specially for hard core users out there), We can assure you that you will appreciate the change as time passes by

Most important feature.. editing deals in app itself… most awaiting feature from DD app..

Just as before.. They still need to provide a reason for Voting something down…
Also , just one Vote down will not make it Red like before.. Rather hotness will automatically adjust to show reality, if deal is good
It’s so un-needed change.. no always u need to change.. when things are perfect u should be let it be instead of trying something just to change

Sorry but I do not like this change.. may be I am too used to see the old forum layout

Where is the option for posting a new deal
Suggestion, make the hot deals page auto updating, like live cricket scores, would save time in reloading again and again 
Create an option of this for internet conscious people
@admin I not seen any option for posting a deal (using mobile)
for website – check top right corner submit button is there for posting deals

Votes were awesome, hotness measure is good as well but we are used to green deals

Choose your layout and it applies site-wide
Default should be pure forum look, each deal arranged in a row instead of grid box…
There is a row view….. once you select that you will see all deals in a row (you can select with or without image as well)
give the option to user how they want to see the forum, box like now or grid view.
its already there.. but not like how it used to be there previously .. anyway I visit rarely
it will take time to get used to this new design, sorry but not liking it initially 
. used to the old design which did’nt required any changes i guess.
post new deals under discussions…right ?

seriously this design reminds me of a 3rd party website
better you should have spent the designing expenses for betterment of dimers of FPD posts bcoz of whom you guys are living a luxurious life

Grid layout is awful, is pretty much clear you guys want more clicks on get deal button than users reading the actual forum post before. Whole idea of the forum is changed now.
First instance it’s confusing and would be less engaging for old users.

Fix issues of Android app.
Unable to check freebies section as before.
Expected some updates for Android app becoz too much features ruined everything..
Hope to see simple UI as it’s in previous versions,anyway for 90% of time I prefer app only…

I think that was the Best to know whether the deal is genuine ir not as it would have been verified by dimers after checking the Deal.
But lets see for few days how new implementation works.
New forum Icons are added. Jwaala for Hot deals 😀
