On the contrary, i'm expecting JioCinema to move into a standalone paid streaming site very soon (just like JioSaavn is). They used FIFA as a test ground to promote JioCinema and to make people familiarized with the site (There were few hiccups initially but after couple of days the experience turned out to be better than Hotstar and SonyLiv)

For FIFA WC, Jio spent around 400c for streaming rights and the ad revenue is expected to be 300c. With 3k crore+ investment into IPL for 5 seasons (+ humongous interest) it is perfect time to increase the subscriber base for JioCinema (With hotstar, it was IPL that kept the subscriber base growing for years)
