IRCTC New Website - Tatkal and 'Book Only if confirm berths are allotted' option not working

Today I have booked one Tatkal Ticket.
Even after Ticking the option ‘Book Only if confirm berths are allotted’ ticket has been booked with Waiting List status.

Anyone faced the same scenario in new IRCTC website.

OLD website worked flawlessly in this regards.

Same thing happened to me and I thought I might had forgot to tick the option

Maybe because of Supreme Court direction. Supreme Court recently directed that Waitlisted tickets booked online shouldn’t be cancelled automatically.

Bro. Ur talking about cancellation part.

We are facing the issue with booking the ticket itself.

In previous version of IRCTC website, when we check that option, after debiting our account when confirm tkt is not available, system will ask ‘confirm ticket is not available do you proceed’. And we will choose NO option and the ticket will not be booked. Total debited money will be returned in couple of days without any deduction.

In the new website, the option is there, but even after ticking it the WL ticket is booked. Then what is the use in keeping that option.
We have to cancel the ticket manually or automatically it will get cancelled after chart preparation. But we will be charged 60 either way.
This is new way of looting it seems.

Note : pls try in booking Tatkal thru IRCTC app. This option is working fine in it as of now.

Yes, I booked two tickets yesterday. My two tickets were waitlisted. So, I was searching for the option book tickets only if both are in same coach. And that option was not there. There was only consider for auto-upgradation option. All other choice options are gone.
I liked the new website look as we can search for train status without login.

Still not working from the website. Checked “book only if confirmed berths are alloted” for SL but gave me a MB without even promptiing me. Is it working from the mobile app?

If u want Lower only, then u sud have also chosen that option along with ‘Book only if confirm berths are allotted’. Since u have chosen confirm only option, it has booked u middle berth.

In app and website, all options working fine.
