Is it possible to throttle the speed of internet on hotspot?

I am sharing my net with someone else, but that's hampering my internet experience (I couldn't deny that person). Is there any way to provide them restricted speed without putting it in their knowledge? Using Android.

I guess we can throttle speed on routers but not on android…check any third party apps available

If rooted use BradyBound. But it won’t just limit throttling to the Hotspot, rather it’s system-wide.

Use Netcut software on windows desktop or laptop to throttle the speed of perticular device connected with same wifi.

This works like a charm.

Only seen this function on hardware routers and that too only by using a 2nd login ie as guest account. You need a pretty complex router setup to do this like in a company where particular connection ranges can have bandwidth management..

Some android phones have hotspot and wifi on at the same time.. So you could use a middle man here and that would cause a latency delay which would allow you to get much faster connections. The first ack/nak gets to send data pausing others and slowing them down as you get first chance for data.

Cheapest solution for this scenario is(considering u don't wanna root ur mobile device) ... 1) Buy a TP Link 841n router and install dd wrt on it. The router costs around 849. and dd wrt is free. 2)Set interface 1 as client to recieve the mobile hotspot internet. 3) Create interface 2 as AP , whichs credential you will give to the other user. 4)Now create a bandwidth rule u in NAT/QoS->QoS then limit by interface priority .,(Set max up and down there) .
