I asked this question to chatgpt

*Yes, the smoke from firecrackers is poisonous.* It contains harmful chemicals and particulate matter that can cause serious health problems, especially for people with respiratory conditions like asthma.

Here are some of the harmful substances found in firecracker smoke:

* *Particulate matter:* Tiny particles that can penetrate deep into the lungs, causing respiratory problems.

* *Nitrogen oxides:* These gases can irritate the respiratory tract and contribute to smog.

* *Sulfur dioxide:* This gas can irritate the respiratory tract and eyes.

* *Carbon monoxide:* A poisonous gas that can reduce oxygen levels in the blood.

* *Heavy metals:* These can accumulate in the body and cause various health problems.

To protect your health and the environment, it's best to avoid using firecrackers. If you choose to use them, it's important to do so in a safe and responsible manner, and to minimize exposure to the smoke.

It' a free country - people can smoke and drink and play rummy online and destroy their lives if they wish. There's lots of families who still depend on the cottage industry of making crackers.

If govt wants to ban sale of firecrackers, give these people an alternate means of livelihood. And make it a blanket ban - no more firecrackers for New years, elections, welcoming politicians, etc

Smoke from crackers is infinitely less than the smoke you inhale from vehicles which gives cancer, lung disease, BP, heart attacks, etc. Yet nobody is ready to stop using vehicles.

Even vegan avocados make more danger to earth than crackers.

Why do people even create these posts knowing it will turn into a communal topic given the current situation of the world and i am not talking about India in particular. Secondly no one here is a 5yr old kid, everyone is educated enough to these basics things and try their best to be responsible as possible. Lastly it's just a one or two day thing so we don't need to bring up this yapping every other year about firecrackers and whatnot, the whole world knows about Diwali and the way it is celebrated in India and beauty of it.

If u think in the broader sense almost all the things humans do are against nature.. so stop being selective on a particular thing.

Also, if any person is feeling a lil triggered by this post, please don't let this turn any hatred inside you towards a particular community, there are always good and bad people in every part of the world and also people with different perspectives belonging to all religions and nationalities. Just yesterday i met with my friends at night and one of my friends had brought his college friend with him and he was from different faith (uk what i mean) , yet while we were driving he looked out people bursting crackers and happy laughed and joked "kya ban wan lagate hain ispe, ek din ki baat hai phodo bharke", translation- "why do people talk about ban and all, it's just a one day thing, burst it as much as u want".

Poisonous or not, it's not possible to breathe and your eyes burn when you pass through the smoke of crackers.

Noble thought in a land where people are not .

I heard plastic story, then distilleries sucking water, no bs to current BS VI norms and electronic waste, cutting trees fir papers, pharmaceutical companies polluting, yet we are unmoved like our leaders. If all of this goes what is there to talk about boring.  Huh..
