(Warning – nostalgic sentiments. don’t like , don’t read)
Like there’s a cream that my grandma used almost her whole life (except in her last 2 and half decades) and she used to recommend that but it wasn’t found anywhere at all after I was born. Name is Afghan snow (and just found from google tonight that it was the earliest beauty cream from India!)
I thought it closed down until I saw an Marathi lady using it today.
I found a 3rd party seller but they charge 100 times more, Rs 50 cream is sold for Rs 1500-2000! Not kidding.
Freaking money vampire.
I found a website of a Mumbai seller, selling at MRP but I think he’s a whole seller ☹️
I really want to buy and appreciate the cream that my grandma loved so much and recommended.
I’ve 0 idea about sales and marketing but is it possible to get such an old and now a small time manufacturer to sell on online platforms?

What exactly is this cream used for? Have heard about it from a friend before.

Try to contact the wholeseller and find out the retailers in your area (if any). Offline system works better in these cases. Don’t rely on the websites.

The story goes that when the king of Afghanistan visited India in 1919, he met with a bunch of young entrepreneurs in Bombay. One of them was Ebrahim Sultanali Patanwala, a businessman from Rajputana, now Rajasthan, who manufactured perfumes and beauty products. He presented the king with a hamper filled with products he had manufactured.

In this hamper was a jar of white cream with no name. The king remarked that it reminded him of Afghan snow. And so the cream that became a beloved household product was given its name.
