Japan Railways starts to accept Discover Card from April 2020 (Japan merchants already accept RuPay-Discover Global cards through JCB Card network) -
Enabling people to purchase tickets with Discover Card at station ticket offices and ticket vending machines.
JCB card announces that Discover Card will be accepted from 1 April 2020 for purchase of tickets at station ticket offices and ticket vending machines(*) operated by Japan Railways (JR Hokkaido, JR East, JR Central, JR West, JR Shikoku and JR Kyushu).
Most of the RuPay Global cards are Discover Card. so, Now all RuPay-Discover Global cards accepted in Japan Railways.
JCB and Discover have an existing partnership for mutual acceptance of both merchant networks in multiple countries including Japan and the USA.
This alliance allows acceptance of JCB Card at Discover merchants in countries where Discover has presence, which includes the USA.
It also allows acceptance of Discover Card at JCB merchants in JCB acceptance territories including Japan.
Note – RuPay also issue JCB brand Global Card, RuPay-JCB Global card already accept in JCB acceptance territories including Japan.

We are accepting their bullet trains, so on the lower side atleast they can accept RuPay.
Jokes apart, I hope Rupay becomes equivalent to visa, master, amex, etc.
It will bring great income for India, plus the outflow to these other gateway will reduce
