Get it done ASAP. Years back I had experienced the same in case of a Tata Docomo no. wherein just 48 hours had been given to complete re-verification. I saw the message days later by which time it had been deactivated. Later allocated to someone else real soon.

I had received such notices, but those were for "mandatory" Aadhaar linking. Got them linked. Since then no issues.

No investigation nothing even my this number is not associated with any bank or monetary related transaction..
