Jiofiber Backup Plan Rs. 198 onwards
https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/telecom/ahead...
Wonder if current jiofiber plans can be downgraded? What do you guys think? Anyone got any insider information?
But we have 5G Unlimited as backup in case Home Fiber goes down 😆
- This will help Jio capture low paying BB market share (from BSNL)
- People doing WFH will opt for backup connection .
- If JioFiber uptime looks promising to them, they will gradually opt Jiofiber as their primary internet connection.
- Revenue will increase drastically for Jio.
Babu bhaiya Paisa hi Paisa hoga 😄

If this happen everyone will downgrade
Unlikely, some categories that I can think of who wouldn't
1. WFH folks who are getting reimbursed.
2. Families (10mbps is just not enough imo)
3. Businesses
and other categories, if any.
Only people who might downgrade would be single bachelors (not working) or professionals whose work doesn't demand an uninterrupted internet connection (mostly 9-5 office goers) who can make it work with mobile data but sometimes need fiber broadband during leisure times. But that's my opinion and it could be wrong.

Can existing jiofiber users get this plan or only way us to go for a new connection

For a 5-month plan, you can pay Rs. 990 (Rs. 198 x 5) and Rs. 500 for installation to get JioFiber.
Besides that, you can also pay for a 1, 2 or 7 day pass to upgrade the speed to 30Mbps or 100Mbps. To get the set-top box and 6 or 14 OTT apps, you can make a payment of Rs. 100 or Rs. 200 per month.
JioFiber is also offering customers to upgrade to an STB (Set-Top Box). With Rs 100 per month entertainment upgrade, you can get free STB + 400 live TV channels + 6 OTT (over-the-top) apps + YouTube. With Rs 200 per month, you can get a free STB + 550 live TV channels + 14 OTT apps + YouTube.
Here’s how to get a new Jio Fiber Back Up connection:

Is this 198 plan prepaid or postpaid?

where is list of 400 tv channels ?
this is a long-term loss don't focus on short-term gains
wired internet is going to get cheap over time if the market share goes to jio prices will hike for no reason you will pay less now but later on, you will not have any choice
stick to what you have currently the difference is only of 50 - 100 rs

Before going for Airtel, I visited BSNL to get a connection but they even don't took it seriously. After many visit they said that they don't give connection on my location. They never want to work.
BSNL deserve to be fully closed! Their sarkari employee totally responsible for this poor condition of the company.
with speed of 10 Mbps i dont think you will be able to enjoy anything without buffering or it might only work with 480p smoothly

People complaining 10mbps but not seeing the price they are giving at. You can't expect 100mbps at such a cheap rate... ₹200 is nothing in today's world and you are paying it for the thing you will use the most. Imo it's worth every penny.
