Something to Learn from Life – Beautiful Story !!

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire.
He told his employer/contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and
live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family.
He would miss the pay check, but he needed to retire.
They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favour.

The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work.
He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials.
It was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter.
“This is your house,” he said, "my gift to you.

What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.
Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.
So it is with us.
We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best.

At important points we do not give the job our best effort.
Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built.
If we had realized, we would have done it differently.

Think of yourself as the carpenter.
Think about your house.
Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall.
Build wisely.
It is the only life you will ever build.
Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity.

The plaque on the wall says, “Life is a do-it-yourself project.”

Who could say it more clearly?

Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past.
Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

One day, the young lion asked his mom:
“Mom, where is the happiness?”

Mom replied:
“It’s on your tail.”

So the young lion keeps on chasing after his tail.

But after a whole day of trying, he failed to get the happiness that was on his tail.

Then he told his mom about this, his mom smiled and said:
“Son, you don’t really need to chase after your happiness, as long as you keep going and moving forward,
your happiness will always be with you..”

Wish every one of you find your happiness.

You can’t decide the length of life, but you can control how you want to live it.

You can’t control the weather, but you can control your mood.

You can’t change your look, but you can smile.

You can’t control others, but you can control yourself.

You can’t foresee tomorrow, but you can utilize today wisely.

You can’t win everything, but you can try your very best to achieve that.

Hope everyone can face the daily life positively and always happy…

The Brick!!! Read It.

Read this today and don’t delete it even if you are too busy!! You’l l see.

THE BRICK

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down

when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag’s side door!

He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver

then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against

a parked car shouting, ‘What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That’s a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money Why did you do it?’ The young boy was apologetic. ‘Please, mister…please, I’m sorry but I didn’t know what else to do,’ He pleaded. ‘I threw the brick because no one else would stop…’ With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. ’It’s my brother, ‘he said ’He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can’t lift him up.’

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, ‘Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He’s hurt and he’s too heavy for me.’

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. ‘Thank you and may God bless you,’ the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: ’Don’t go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!’ God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don’t have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It’s our choice to listen or not.

Thought for the Day:

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning Face it, friend – He is crazy about you!

Send this to every ‘beautiful person’ you wish to bless.

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in…

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,
When 24 hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class
And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

‘Now,’ said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
’I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things – family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions.
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else —The small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ He continued,
’there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So…

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

‘Take care of the golf balls first —
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.’

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
’I’m glad you asked’.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.’

The world has celebrated women’s day on 08.03.2013.

Why can’t we men celebrate "Happy Men’s Day?

For the 1st time SOMETHING on a MAN.

Who is a MAN?

A man is the most beautiful part of God’s creation that starts compromising at a very tender age.

He sacrifices his chocolates for his sister.

He sacrifices his dreams for just a smile on his parents face.

He spends his entire pocket money on buying gifts for the girl he loves just to see her smiling

He sacrifices his full youth for his wife & children by working late at night without any complaints.

He builds their future by taking loans from banks & repaying them for lifetime.

He struggles a lot & still has to bear scolding from his mother, wife & boss.

His mother, wife & boss all try to control him.

His life finally ends up only by compromising for others’ happiness.

Respect every male in your life.

You will never know what he has sacrificed 4U.

Why is NO one Happy?

Re-Evaluation value of happiness…

Excellent Article written by someone..…..good write up !!!!!

Yesterday, I was driving, and the FM radio went off for few seconds. I thought, I should have an iPod.
Then suddenly I realized that I have not used my iPod in last 6 months.
And then, more things, Handy cam in last 2 years, Digital Camera in last 2 months, DVD player in last 1 month and many more.
Now I can say that I bought that Handy cam just out of impulse, I have used it twice only in last 4 years.

So, what’s wrong and where?
When I look at myself or my friends I can see it everywhere.
We are not happy with what we have but all are stressed and not happy for the things we don’t have.
You have a Santro, but you want City; you have a City, but you want Skoda.
Just after buying a new phone, we need another one.
Better laptop, bigger TV, faster car, bigger house, more money, and .
I mean, these examples are endless.
The point is, does it actually worth?
Do we ever think if we actually need those things before we want them?

After this, I was forced to think what I need and what I don’t. May be I didn’t need this Handy cam or the iPod or that DVD player.
When I see my father back at home he has a simple BPL colour TV, he doesn’t need 32" Sony LED wall mount.
He has a cell phone worth Rs 1,500. ($30.00) (£20.00)
Whenever I ask him to change the phone, he always says, “It’s a phone; I need this just for calls.”

And believe me; he is much happier in life than me with those limited resources and simple gadgets.
The very basic reason why he is happy with so little is that he doesn’t want things in life to make it luxurious,
but he wants only those things which are making his life easier.
It’s a very fine line between these two, but after looking my father’s life style closely, I got the point.
He needs a cell phone but not the iPhone.
He needs a TV but not the 32" LED.
He needs a car but not an expensive one.

Initially I had lot of questions.

I am earning good; still I am not happy…why?

I have all luxuries; still I am stressed…. ……. why?

I had a great weekend, still I am feeling tired…… why?

I met lot of people, I thought over it again and again, I still don’t know if I got the answers, but certainly figured out few things.
I realize that one thing which is keeping me stressed is the “stay connected” syndrome.
I realized that, at home also I am logged in on messengers, checking mails, using social networks,
and on the top of that, the mobile is not letting me disconnected.
On the weekend itself, trying to avoid unwanted calls, WhatsApp updates and that is keeping my mind always full of stress.
I realized that I am spending far lesser money than what I earn; even then I am always worried about money and more money.
I realized that I am saving enough money I would ever need, whenever needed.
Still I am stressed about job and salary and spend.

May be, many people will call this approach “not progressive attitude”, but I want my life back.
Ultimately it’s a single life, a day gone is a day gone.
I believe if I am not happy tonight, I’ll never be happy tomorrow morning.
I finally realized that meeting friends, spending quality time with your loved one’s; spending time with yourself is the most important thing.

If on Sunday you are alone and you don’t have anybody to talk with, then all that luxuries life, all that money is wasted.
May be cutting down your requirements, re-calculating your future goal in the light of today’s happiness is a worthwhile thing to do.
May be selling off your Santro and buying Honda City on EMIs is not a good idea.
I believe putting your happiness ahead of money is the choice we need to make.

*I think, a lot can be said and done but what we need the most is re-evaluation of the value of happiness and time we are giving to our life and people associated with it.

Think about it……*

Winston Churchill was once asked about his position on whiskey.
His reply !

“If you mean whiskey….. the devil’s brew, the poison scourge, the
bloody monster that defiles innocence, dethrones reason, destroys the
home, crushes misery and poverty, yes, literally takes the bread from the
mouths of the little children; if you mean the evil drink that topples men and
women from the pinnacles of righteous and gracious living into
the bottomless pit of degradation, shame, despair, helplessness and
hopelessness, then my friend, I am opposed to it with every fiber of my being.”

“However, if by whiskey, you mean the oil of conversation….
the philosophic wine, the elixir of life, the ale that is consumed when good
fellows get together, that puts a song in their hearts and the warm
glow of contentment in their eyes; if you mean good cheer, that stimulating sip
that puts a little spring in the step of an elderly gentleman on a
frosty morning; if you mean that drink that enables man to magnify his joy, and to
forget life’s great tragedies and heartbreaks and sorrow; if you mean
the drink the sale of which pours into our treasuries trough tax untold millions of
pounds each year, that provides tender care of our little crippled
children, our blind, our deaf, our dumb, our pitifully aged and infirm, to
build the finest highways, hospitals, universities and community
colleges in this nation, then my friend, I am absolutely, unequivocally in favour of it.”

h4. “This …ladies & gentlemen…. is my position, and as always,…..I

refuse to compromise on matters of principle.”

Cheers !

GETTING OLDER?

A distraught senior citizen phoned her doctor’s office. “Is it true,” she wanted to know, “that the medication you prescribed has to be taken for the rest of my life?" “‘Yes, I’m afraid so,”’ the doctor told her. There was a moment of silence before the senior lady replied, “I’m wondering, then, just how serious is my condition because this prescription is marked

‘NO REFILLS’."

WAQT NAHIN…..!!!!!
A Very Beautiful Poem on Today’s Fast Life

Har Khushi Hai Logon Ke Daman Mein,
Par Ek Hansi Ke Liye Waqt Nahin…
Din Raat Daudti Duniya Mein,
Zindagi Ke Liye Bhi Waqt Nahin…..
Maa Ki Loree Toh Ek Ehsaas Hai,
Par Maa Ko Maa Kehne Ka Waqt Nahin…
Saare Rishton Ko Toh Hum Maar Chuke,
Ab Unhe Dafnane Ka Bhi Waqt Nahin…..
Saare Naam Mobile Mein Hain,
Par Dosti Ke Liye Waqt Nahin…
Gairon Ki Kya Baat Karein,
Jab Apnon Ko Apnon Ke Liye Bhi Waqt Nahin…..
Aankhon Mein Hai Neend Badi,
Par Sone Ka Waqt Nahin…
Dil Hai Gham Se Bhara Hua,
Par Rone Ka Bhi Waqt Nahin…..
Paison Ki Daud Mein Aise Daude,
Ki Thakaan Ka Bhi Waqt Nahin…
Paraye Ehsaason Ki Kya Kadar Karein,
Jab Apne Sapnon Ke Liye Bhi Waqt Nahin…..
Tu Hi Bataa Ae Zindagi,
Iss Zindagi Ka Kya Hoga…
Har Pal Marne Walon Ko,
Jeene Ke Liye Bhi Waqt Nahi…!!
