If there's anybody with over 800 CIBIL (self or family - not friends, not acquanitances, not "i know somebody", not "someone in my office" etc.), what is the combined credit limit of cards you/they are holding (only cards whose limit is being reported) and the mix of credit type?

Mine was 816 earlier. Now it's around 796 - to 798 after taking credit cards. So only cc in credit mix is there then I think it is difficult to get more than 800

With only CC I am hearing ranges of 800-810. With home loan it's coming to around 815-825.

No late payments since day 1 of credit profile, still it hasn't crossed 780.

P.S. I have only Credit Cards. No Home Loan. There were a few personal/consumer loans, thanks to BNPL f*#ks, who ultimately screwed my cibil before permanently closing, but got all of them closed for peace of mind.

Yes. With home loan only in my record it was 816.that loan I closed in 2015.taken cc in 2021 . Since then it is bellow 800 . 1st dropped because of cc enquiry. But after wards it is not crossed 800 so far. Last month it was 798 this month 796.dont know why it dropped 2 points this month.

Everybody's score has dropped this month for no obvious reason. 810 to 799, 807 to 802.

In 2015 they were following different algo (1.0) for Score . It changed (CIBIL 2.0) in 2020 so the drop would have been there in any case.

When did it move past 800 range? Anything in particular you did to make it budge?

Mine used to be in range of 804-805 since last 5-7 years ..it dropped 10-15 points when I took HDFC card and had couple of enquiries and stayed in 790-794 range for months...(I always believed HDFC is culprit as they don't report limit)

Couple of months back I maxed out my spend on HDFC card..score jumped after 2 months when I was back with my normal usage on HDFC and 2 cycle of HDFC reporting data to CIBIL.

Thought as much. Need to wait and watch if the new ICICI card makes my score better; else spend a lot on HDFC card.

My Uncle had credit score of 820 few months ago. Have not asked him recently. He has two LTF Cards from CITI and SBI with combined limit of 8 lakhs. He hardly uses his cards. So there is no question of Credit Usage or Late payments.

I only need to know cibil over 800-810.

Experian and Crif and Equifax don't matter.

The real question should be is there any actual use of getting a score above 800 or is a score of 780+ good enough.

From what I know anything above 780 is pretty amazing and losing your sleep over getting it above 800 is absolutely needless. If anyone here know any actual use of crossing 800, please educate me.

People should stop treating credit score like marks on an exam. After a particular point, it doesn't really matter how high your score is. If you have a 780-790 score, that puts you in or near the top 10%. Most sites that tell you your credit score consider scores above 775-780 as excellent. Such scores will make you eligible for all thy credit card and loans, provided you meet the other criteria. Then what's the point of this discussion and having similar threads pop up every few weeks?!

Nothing against the poster but is this post seriously telling/advising someone to take a loan to get their score above 800? Like, why? Do you get gold medal from the president for getting your credit score above 800? Or a certificate of achievement from CIBIL?
