On 10th Aug 2019.
I had booked a ticket from PayTM and I boarded the bus on journey date, and bus was late by two hours. Then, Bus which I was traveling got cancelled midway just after 1.5 hours after traveling. And they gave refund to who bought tickets by cash and told me to get refund from PayTM and contact them.
Then, I raised a ticket in PayTM & they said they’ll confirm from bus company and take action within 15 days. This query is still open.
Then, I received normal “Rate the Journey” email and I rated badly and they took it as a query and Provided me a coupon (30% cb upto 350) as a goodwill gesture.
Now my question is that, Will they refund me the ticket charges? Or they’ll just deny because they already gave me a coupon.

Right, that’s what I think about “goodwill gesture”. I thought to ask here if anyone has experience. And Yes, refund query ticket is still open they’re “investigating” just to delay.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
you have right to take refund
Yes, I’ve raised the ticket. I’m sure I’ll get the refund, not so sure about deductions. But, will see how much they’ll give.
You should take refund (with minor deductions only) instead of this goodwill gesture code… Return this code to paytm…..
Yes, I’ve ticket open for refund and maybe they’ll deduct some amount. But If they’ll deny refund just because of this code, I’ll try to return it. Hoping for best, full refund. 😌
I bought a shirt from Amazon for 5k, there was this offer of 10% cashback ,but turns out the MRP was only 1.3k. I forward those pics to Amazon, they processed my full refund and also ask me to keep the cashback as goodwill gesture.
So no matter what, u should always ask for refund. The good will gesture is only compensation for ur trouble, it cant be considered as refund
