My poor Acer Swift 3 laptop has had screen issues since May 2021 and even though I got a monitor, I woke up today to see it flickering ON MY MONITOR (monitor is fine, it's a laptop issue). The earphone jack is screwed, (got a USB sound card) the keyboard is screwed, (have an external one), it heats up like the 7th circle of hell, ugh I'm sick of it.Â
I need at least:Â
8GB RAM but more is better
14" FHD IPS screen
256GB SSDÂ
2GB graphics card cos I make and edit videos sometimes, play light games like The Sims. Why do most new laptops have the Intel Iris XE thingy? Is it decent?
Core i5 or equivalent (or better)
Backlit keyboard would be great
I like fingerprint readers!
Would prefer a not-too-heavy laptop
Metal body would be greatÂ
2 to 3 year warranty please...Acer really screwed me over; cost to repair screen would be 10k and it conveniently went bad 6 months after the 1 year warranty was up.Â

Thinkpad suits your requirements except Metal body.
If you don't move around, you could consider a desktop instead!Â
Go with rtx 1650 graphic card based Lenovo or Asus laptops. Btw, deals are almost over!
Also, since spending close to 50k, I would suggest to go for a laptop with Type C charging these days! It is so messy to have so many different chargers and cables these days. Every damn thing these days should come with Type C charging. Type C should be made mandatory by the govt for any new device launch!
