Now, I am a bit confused. My heart is really set with Yoga 7i Pro 11th gen core i5. The laptop is built like a tank. Vivobook S15 OLED looks great as well. Asus buyers, how is durability of Asus laptops? Can we get 3 year ADP at a nominal cost like we do get in Lenovo?

we can avail hp warranty offers even if we have bought from Amazon/Flipkart by going here https://www.redeemnow.in/hpnewyear_regist...on

1. Eliminate laptops which don't have at least 300 nits of brightness

2. OLED display is not necessary, may consume more battery

3. Don't go with fuzitsu, msi

4. Choose either 12gen Intel or ryzen 7 6000 series processors

Nice thread Bikibhai
Asus provides discount ADP price only for a year at Asus-promo.in; you need to check their regular prices for the extended year.
As it's a big name in the budget gaming segment, you may find mixed service reviews from the vast customer pool. If you can recall, I had a pretty good experience in service for an issue caused by me. Unlike Dell and HP, Asus has tied with 3rd party OEM service providers; hence, comparing experiences from different parts of the country is challenging.
They have tied with F1 solutions in my city, a service partner for Apple handsets, which might speak for good service experience. I am a harsh critic, and I can't recommend you put Asus on the blacklist.

HP Pavilion Laptop 14-ec1003AU https://www.hp.com/in-en/shop/hp-pavilion-lapto...

Question: if we buy Hp laptop from Amazon, can we get 3 year ADP+ warranty at 4999 ?

I think I tagged you earlier in one of my post biki bhai. Asus support is very disappointing as they are refusing to consider a very small broken connector inside laptop as manufacturing defect while there is not even a scratch on the outside of laptop body. They are saying such damage is physical damage which can't be covered under standard warranty & need ADP but how can such damage possibly happen with any mishandling which didn't leave even a single scratch on laptop anywhere. This broken connector is situated below a thin metal strip which need to be unscrewed to even reach the connector. If somebody doesn't have ADP then he is out of luck in this case not to mention Asus ADP covers free repairing only once in its validity so even with ADP you are basically paying for asus mistake as if some accident happen by your mistake(say laptop fell from table) for which you actually bought ADP it will be useless as you already availed it for a manufacturing defect of Asus.

Yoga 7i pro 11th gen Intel is a good one in my opinion. What's your take on it?

4. Many typical non-gaming laptops with 12th gen intel come with 45-55Wh batteries so not much advantage over having oled screen but biggest issue is that only asus laptops come with affordable oled screen laptops but their build quality & support is poor(see my above post).

it looks good if 11th gen intel can fulfil your requirements & you are sure not to need extra ram(if it has 16gb then no issue). For any typical usage 11th gen i5 is more than enough. Most important thing is, Lenovo has option to get ADP for 2-3 years at reasonable rates which should cover most of the issues(also standard warranty for cases like soldered ram going bad means entire mobo need to be replaced).

I have had very bad experiences with HP support, twice. HP refused to send onsite technician in Jharkhand, although I had extended onsite warranty. Bought HP twice and leant my lesson.

Also had a bluetooth problem with Lenovo laptop. When I raised a complaint on their portal, they simply marked it as resolved. Most manufacturers use the same shitty local repairing shops as their local technicians.

Had a Dell laptop whose HDD faulted within a year. It was a 5400 RPM one. Onsite technician installed a 3400 rpm one as replacement. Also hinge broke after warranty expired. Worst built.

Finally bought an Asus. Lets hope it doesnt gives up soon.

On a different note, Asus ADP is not cheap. So I did not opt for ADP. Got 3 year onsite warranty for 2499. Currently using Asus Tuf with Ryzen 9 5900HX with RTX 3060 GPU. The built is solid. But I havent opted for their after sale service yet lol.

Only two types of laptop hdd are there in market, 5400rpm & 7200rpm. I don't think a 3400rpm hdd even exist.

As for asus hope you bought the ADP at the time of laptop purchase(see my above posts).

Heard similar bad customer support stories for HP but I think HP extended warranty & ADP are much costlier for 2-3 years compared to lenovo.

I had Dell laptop during 2013. At that time 3400 RPM ones were available.

I have had problems with Dell, HP twice, Lenovo, lol. None are good. The last Lenovo laptop I bought through Biki bhai's post with rtx 2060 3 years ago. After the extended warranty expired, my GPU got fried. Lenovo quoted a high amount for motherboard replacement. Local shop asked 23k for the same. So I opted for a new laptop. Sold that one (after removing SSD and HDD and had removed the swollen battery earlier) for 5k lol.

I was thinking of buying MSI instead of Asus. But their after sale service I heard is much more pathetic lol.

I did have a Lenovo Thinkpad though in between. It was solid built. Far better built than any laptop I ever owned. After that Lenovo Legion and Asus Tuf comes to mind in case of built quality. HP Pavilion ones were very fragile. Same was Dell Vostro.

I purchased HP Victus laptop from Amazon near Diwali in 74k with i7 11th gen, 16 GB RAM, 6GB RTX 3060, 300 nits features, maybe you'll get a similar specifications laptop. Don't go with MSI laptops, I had a bad experience with them. Take a laptop with good built quality and preferably a non-gaming to avoid battery isssues.

@Guest_999 recently bought Asus OLED laptop at steal deal though their customer support is worst but still....
Avoid MSI and Fujitsu for time being as well and lenovo also (not worth your budget)...

If you had a Kohinoor showroom in your locality would have directly helped you with your purchase in the store itself wink
