Australia's parliament recently passed a law which restricts social media companies to allow anyone under 16 to access their platform.
The details on how social media companies will verify user's age are still under consideration.
However, the law will not come into force for another 12 months.

And then?
There are laws, regardingthe minimum age criterion
for one to legally consume alcohol, hard drinks.
Was the law enforced when some popular league/ cricketing even openly posted some underage (but popular) cricketer enjoying some win with alcohol?
Just to be clear, I am not against the idea of similar laws being enacted here. I am not averse to what you are suggesting.
It is just that, authoritarian regimes (example: China) are relatively successfully pulling away or dissuaded their youth away from tiktok type things and utilising them in manufacturing, nation building, encroaching lands of other countries.
Here, society (including the governments) takes pride in promoting gambling platforms to the younger generation.
Not many find it disconcerting how a Saif Khan, Kapil Sharma, others are coaxing youngsters to use gambling sites (masked as fantasy team games, ludo).
National, international sporting events even have such gambling platforms as lead sponsors.
(No wonder then that these same platform HEAVILY advertise on various adult sites/ pay pornographic content creators to wear tee-shirrs with their names on it.)
