Lot of Contest from Britania, Goodday, Kitkat, Why?

Recently you have seen lot of Companies coming up with Contest where Kitkat requires you to Scratch a Card and win, whereas Other Companies provide terms and condition regarding use of Mobile Number collected and Other Information, Why such aggressive actions by Companies in such short span of time, One reason may be advertisement and branding and rewarding Consumers, Other may be due to control of big distribution Companies in the Space, like DMART, Amazon, Flipkart, Jiomart etc, As someone pointed out data is new Oil, every Company wants data of their Consumers, So I think other Companies will also follow the path especially FMCG and Other BIG Companies will follow the path in years to come, India does not have solid data protection and hence Companies use data as they want to do. HUL is already following suit by way of Smartpick Reward Program (Now specific to Facebook Audience) and Rewardme program by PNG (I think it is discontinued), But soon We will see the Reward program of Many Companies to Customers. I have seen this type of contest earlier(5-7 years ago) also but at that time I didn’t, believe that I can win is such type of contets

See Dmart started selling ghee under their own brand and hence other companies will follow the same and hence these manufacturing and marketing companies independence is threatened by distribution companies
