Asus Vivobook has avg build quality especially touchpad which I found to be even a bit below avg. Vivobook pro have better build quality & vivobook S series has somewhere in between of these two. Try finding similar models in lenovo. HP & Dell. Also, no matter which brand you buy always get at least 2 years(preferably 3) extended warranty with ADP(accidental damage protection).
Mac v/s Windows boils down to the softwares you need to use on it. For example, an awful lot of accounting software (e.g. Tally) does not work on Mac. I need Powershell that is not on Mac. If you are only going to use it for web-browsing / media consumption then by all means go with a Mac. The M1/M2 processors are fantastic in terms of speed and battery life. If you use a Mac responsibly (i.e. not plonking it down on a mattress / bed, keeping it dust free, not eating junk (chips, namkeen) while using the laptop, not touching the screen or rubbing it with wet cloth) it will last a long time.
I think if you are "rich" rich then buy mac without a thought
No not that if anything goes wrong whole mobo is changed I can afford Mac but once I get into apple it's a web of subscriptions
That's why i said "rich" because buying apple is like buying a elephant many can buy it, but only few can afford to keep it.
Mac is usually about build quality + OS experience + battery life + long term reliability, but it is very high priced and repairs are costly when out of warranty.
