After all the ups and downs, my marriage is getting fixed with the girl I was dating for 1 year. Now there are lots of difficulties coming for marriage. This is a kind of intercaste marriage. Both belong from the Bania caste, but not the same subcaste. So her family is not that happy. We both are middle class families.
I am not earning that much that I can have a grand marriage, so I want a budget marriage. You guys are experienced so kindly share your views to save money in marriage ceremonies.
The number of guests might be 150-200. Planning to get married in November. Also my gf is saying that she wants to go foreign for the honeymoon, which country is the best for budget trip. I have never been to any foreign country before.
So how to plan in such a way that I can have a budget marriage, catering and also a foreign trip.
Kindly share your ideas.

In November, Nepal can be a wonderfully romantic destination for a honeymoon, especially if you're on a tight budget. Pokhara, in particular, is a very romantic place. However, if you're looking for a more typical foreign honeymoon experience on a budget, Thailand is your best bet.
By the way, congratulations on your upcoming marriage! I'm really happy to see that you're doing well despite your father's untimely demise. As a piece of unpopular advice, I would suggest that you not rush into the decision of getting married. Marriage is a lifelong commitment that you're responsible for establishing and maintaining. It's better to be alone than to spend your life with the wrong person and regret it later. However, if you believe that the person you're marrying is the perfect match for you and your families, then go ahead and ignore my words.
Remember, everyone has a tendency to become the hero of their own life, just like in typical Bollywood movies.
I lived there. Much wonderful place, Trekking was fun there.
THE CHEAPEST IS YOUR OWN HOUSE......Indian Households are full of adventures......
Congratulations 🎊🎊🎊🎊
Replace gf with fiance now .
U can book halwai on labour rates and get the raw material urself also keep an eye on it, this way u will save hell lot on catering.
Book garden/lawn over banquet this will also save money on decoration and rent and u will have full control on all aspects.
For clothing, delhi is best place for it, or u can get stuff on rent to again save on one time wearing dresses .
For honeymoon - u can visit nearby countries or can increase budget which u saved from other aspects and can visit other countries which are unaffordable due to budget constraints.
Andaman u can go(not another country but gives u feel),avoid Pakistan , nepal, bali, malaysia, Thailand, russia🥲.
first of all congrats , have a peaceful life ahead . Cant help in marriage suggestion , but for Honeymoon can suggest Thailand ,Veitnam based on my personal experience (not honeymoon just travelling) and budget you have suggested
Thailand - Much more than beach and pubs ,friendly people, good tourist destination and budget friendly also ,Visa on Arrival
Veitnam - Same as Thailand ,a little more budget than Thailand but still very budget friendly
Some people may suggest below destination and I am gonna provide their cons
Indonesia - Cons - Beach thats all , comparatively lesser tourist destination , inter state travel is difficult
Malaysia- Good tourist spots but have to travel alot for that although have good public transport, may not fit in budget
Singapore - Not budget friendly simple as that
dada logo ki mat socho. kha k b jayenge or comment b kr k jayenge. just shrink this program as much as u can like many people during lock down . by saved money u can use for ur personal. ab kharche badne wale h suddenly. u will feel change in people around u .
OP, congrats on your marriage and dealing with what you did. Many fail to do so and lose hope and break up eventually so thumbs up for that. Hoping that you will get a good deal on your whole event for your marriage this November. And good to hear that you thought of yourself and rising from the past which happened in your life. @kool
Google through all Asian countries and eliminate all options one by one (Check for Visa on arrival / visa free options too) then head to any AI website which can draft you a dream itinerary (alter your requirements from suggestions you get from our dimers as well) then book your tickets and flyyy.....
Again reiterating, good to see people using DD as one stop solutions for all issues - Jobanputra bros but UI still needs enchancements.
+1
Like in Baniya Caste will have Subcaste like Rauniyar, Teli, Burnwal, Srivastav
bhai bahat aagey nikal gaye tm. congratulation.
Thanks
@kool Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! It's great to hear that you and your girlfriend have decided to take this step together. I'm happy to share some ideas with you.
Firstly, you can try to cut down on some of the unnecessary expenses. For example, instead of having a grand wedding venue, you could consider having the wedding at a community hall or even at home. You could also save on decorations by using simple, elegant designs rather than elaborate ones.
When it comes to catering, you could try to negotiate with caterers to get the best possible price. You can also consider having a potluck-style reception, where guests bring their own dishes to share.
As for your honeymoon, there are many budget-friendly destinations that you can consider. Some popular options include Thailand, Bali, and Vietnam. You can also look into travel packages or deals to save money on flights and accommodations.
Lastly, it's important to prioritize what's most important to you both as a couple. Remember that the wedding day is just one day, and what really matters is the love and commitment you share with each other. So, focus on creating special memories and celebrating your love in a meaningful way.
I hope these ideas help! Best of luck with your wedding planning and have a wonderful honeymoon!
Remember, Girl also need shopping budget, otherwise they indirectly fight. If they dont shop, what they will tell to their friends??

Anyone has a good itinerary for bali? Or curated a package tour by themselves?
I am planning to visit in may with my spouse
Had a gazillion questions on my mind before travelling to Bali on my first international vacation planned all by myself so penning down this tiny post with some key points to help other travellers to Bali.
First things first, there is no issue at all with Mount Agung and it's all safe to travel.
Flights: AirAsia is a low cost airline but it isn't bad by any means, it's just as good/bad as domestic airlines here in India. But yeah, everything costs extra, including water!
Pro tip: carry Malaysian ringets or pre-book meals for better price. Yes, you can pay by INR or USD too but the conversion rate applied by them is pathetic.
Local travel: Search online and you can find many cab drivers if you need a taxi. It cost me an average of 450k IDR per day for around 8 hr engagement of the taxi. Can get better pricing if you bargain hard. We hired our cab from Mr. Surya who has been excellent throughout our stay. You can contact Surya on +62-8813611676
Hotels: Can't suggest any in specific as it's quite subjective but do ensure the accessibility as I had difficulty with my villa booked on Airbnb having bad access in Seminyak.
For Ubub I have one tip, you have to put up with the crazy number of lizard/gecko/insects, especially if you opt for a private pool villa. Ubud is a place loaded with greenery and rice fields so insects are bound to bother.
Food: Around INR 600 to INR 1000 per meal for a couple for a good meal and goes upwards depending on the kind of luxury you prefer. But every restaurant we had been to served great food.
Shopping: Can be categorised into metro stuff and handicraft stuff. In Seminyak most stuff you get is what we get in big cities in general, be it India or any other place. Ubud has loads of local flavour when you shop and you get the best of artefacts/handicrafts/souvenirs etc. Best places to shop were in ubud art market, shops enroute Tegallalang rice terrace in ubud and krisna souvenir store in seminyak.
Pro tip: Bargain at 20% of quoted price in ubud local markets and settle down with max 30% to 35% of quoted price.
Water sports: Bargain at 35% to 40% of quoted price here. We got a crazy high quote of USD 60 per person for Turtle island trip and USD 50 per person for parasailing but eventually settled down with around USD 185 for both together for 4 people including photos. We should have bargained further though.
Sim cards: Pre-order on simjek.com. I availed a USD 15 sim (forgot name of carrier already but it was not Telkomsel) providing 4gb data and 30 minutes calls and with a free delivery to either Airport or your hotel.
As calls to India were on whatsapp and the free 30 minutes was used only to call the cab driver it was more than sufficient. Never had issue with network coverage either. There is a Telkomsel counter in Airport too but is almost double the cost of what Simjek provided.
Money exchange: You end up loosing just around 0.5% on USD to IDR price shown on Google and seemed like a much better option than to pay using credit card directly. Most stores charge 2% for using credit card and then the banks charge around 3.5% forex charges. So carry enough USD and exchange it to IDR.
There are many money exchangers you find in Bali but do ensure to go only to authorised ones which also clearly writes they offer exchange at no commission. Safe and best.
Visa: Malaysia visa cost me INR 1450 + Bali free. Had to take Malaysian visa as I had a separate PNR for Hyderabad to KL and then KL to Bali.
Time for transit or exit/entry: Around 1 hour in Malaysia + 30 minutes in Bali and India for immigration process.
Baggage: Around Rs. 5700 round trip for 4 legs (Hyd to KL, KL to Bali, Bali to KL and KL to Hyd) for a 25kg bag.
Currency tips: 100K IDR is around 480 INR and 100 USD is around 1350000 IDR = 6500 INR. Do make sure to remember this as it will help a lot to calculate/convert when you want to bargain for something or to even assess how much you are shelling out to get something.

Passport req. For foreign trip may be you don't know so make it first if yet not have
Planning for a 10 days trip to Nepal in the second week of April with family. I planned the following itinerary.
Hyderabad to Kathmandu (reach around 10 am) - 2 days in Kathmandu
Travel to Pokhara - 1 day
Pokhara - 2days
Pokhara to Muktinath and return - 3/4 days
Pokhara to Bhairahawa by air
Next day reach Gorakhpur and catch flight to Hyd
Flight From Hyd to Kathmandu costs around 24k for 3 people (1 way). Any better offers?
My main concern is where do I exchange INR to NPR?
Do they accept Indian cards in Nepal (at least in Kathmandu and Pokhara).
Any contacts to hire a vehicle for local sightseeing?
Any suggestions for staying in Kathmandu and pokhara?
Any suggestions on changing the itinerary.
Thanks in advance.
Abhilash.
But several of my friends and relatives told it's really a good place to spend a 'romantic' vacation.
I hope @quantum can give you some leads and suggestions if required.
And most of the time you'll not find it difficult to buy things using INR also. (I'm talking about paper notes too) .
There's kinda syndicate of cabs and shops which tends to be expensive at times.
Always compare prices with adjacent shops / drivers and don't be ashamed to bargain, it will save you a lot of money.
As per my Experience
Malaysia is cheap and best
Will give you premium feel.
Also let me tell you , You both are Middle Class family. She upfrontly asking Foreign Trip is not good unless equal expense share is given by both
is marraige even feasible to be entered into a lifetime agreement? what is India's current divorce rate, any facts data?
Total budget?
