Only in 1 day in my native place I have seen some thousands of numbers deactivated…. Not only old but also already using numbers…..
So by this way some are in trouble….
Because they lost primary numbers….

This is the reason that many users left jio … Mean many are deactivated by jio itself and many are ported out of jio…
Last company in India did this with many users ..
First Reliance next Jio can’t be trusted anymore…..

Jio will be the most trustworthy of all operators (which to be fair set the bar very low) IMO until of course something like this ever happens to me!
problem is people dose not want to fight.
if this really happened then it is service deficiency and consumer court decision in most of case in consumer fever only and that to with in 45 days.
Today I got an email for my secondary number which is Jio that Rs. 20 has been charged as retention charges.
I topped up for Rs. 50 (39.37) and current balance now is Rs. 81.09 which means prior to topping up with Rs. 50, available balance was Rs. 41.72
According to Jio, they will charge Rs. 20 as retention charges if number isn’t used for 90 days and then again after 30 days till balance gets exhausted before number is deactivated.
After topping up, when I put that SIM in a mobile phone, it was saying mobile is switched off whereas it wasn’t. So, I recharged with Rs. 119, same result.
I know for sure that my number can’t be deactivated as I did recharge within 30 days of retention charges has been deducted today.
What could be the case here? This is my secondary number and I really can’t lose it as it’s a fancy number.
Why not ask them on Twitter? If you have complied to all the company/TRAI policy (seems like you have) with timely recharges, then simply threaten them legally.
Dear Abhishek,
It is sad to know that you are unable to use Jio services as your number got disconnected due to outstanding due and you wish reactivate the same.
I can understand how important it is to get the same number activated.
Please note that your Jio number ending with 8968 has been permanently disconnected due to non-payment against the postpaid invoices generated in the past.
Also, we are sorry to inform that the same cannot be reactivated from our end/via Selfcare.
However, you may try by visiting the nearest Jio Store/Retailer.
Thus request you to clear off the total outstanding at the earliest and thereafter visit the nearest Jio Store/Retailer as soon as possible.
If all the parameters are met then there is a feasibility to retain the number.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your continued support.

Mobile phone users can approach consumer forum for deficiency in service: SC
Having 10’s of numbers, using just for offers, recharges this wil happen. Simply monthly recharge 20rs, and 30rs and we want our number active, things doesn’t work that way.
Guys, I have a number that I have to keep active. It’s currently on Jio. I don’t need internet and may need to make call once in a blue moon (I can pay extra for calling when I need). What provider and plan do I go for to keep cost at a minimum?
Could also be an effect of the recent directive from DoT to weed out the connections in excess of the maximum permitted 9 per user across all operators and circles. Although that involves multiple steps.
Today I received a call from 8068613400 in one of my nos. Google search leads to the DoT website…
9 aadhar + 9 voter ?
I have not recharged 1 number from past 20 months still not deactivated
It is deactivated only if you don’t have active plan and no balance
even if deactivated just go to jio store reverify kyc thats it it will activated
Yes even for me some sims worked 3days before but they deactivated 2days back
My wife JIO number deactivated without any intimation..have fully paid for an year and plan to expire in Jul’22 despite that they have deactivated. Strange and BAD EXPERIANCE AND REQUESTED JIO CARE TO LOOK INTOTHE MATTER. they redirected to automated customer service to chat.. this is going in circles.. NEVER EXPECTED this FROM JIO team
Can you tweet them and share link so that others can know the reason ?
Complete hoax.
If this is the case, it would be reported on print and electronic media.
Please dont waste time. All my relatives numbers in Maharashtra, Gujarat and MP are active.
Kuch bhi.. fake news
