I cancelled a emi purchase last monday on my hdfc credit card and emi has not been closed yet. When I contacted hdfc bank they said they’ll charge ₹1000 for pre closure of EMI. Do I need to wait for the refund and wait for the emi to auto close or pay ₹1000 and manually close the emi?

Whatever the purchase amount plus penatly fees, pay them first and then call them and say that u have prepaid all the fess and dues and ask them to close emi

NO wtf. It’s a merchant emi , upon refund emi cancellation is automatic and free.
